A story about a man who learns everything.
There’s an evil moment upon awakening when all time seems to stop. Every form in the universe—every living being, inanimate object, celestial body—every atom stops. It is during this time that the sun releases steam. Electrons stop orbiting their nuclei as the planets freeze around the sun. This evil moment causes the most amazing and most powerful subnatural events that any sentient being could experience. The possibilities are endless, but the consequences dire. If any being were to stumble upon this moment—as alert and sane as one could possibly be, given the situation—their world would rapidly shatter beneath their feet and a nightmare would ensue. Yet, as spiral galaxies nearly turn on their axes, worlds approach collision, and life as we know it comes crashing down around us, one tiny gesture changes it all. One quark within one proton moves. Instead of remaining in the deep and dreary sleep brought on by the rest of existence, the single insignificant body makes one final effort to bring everything back together. That single movement changes the course of time and space. If done incorrectly, it could cause stars to drop from the sky and implode into nothingness. The one lonely, calculated movement upon which all the universe relies, happens, it seems, by coincidence. Everything that is known and will ever be known is the cause of the smallest piece of matter known to man.
So it seems…
