Author bio:

I'm from lots of different places. That is to say I have lived in lots of different places and they've all left their mark on me. I don't much resemble the wide-eyed boy who one day drove out of the suburbs of Los Angeles intending never to return. I'm still getting to know San Francisco. NanoWriMo is one facet of that new growth.

I've never written a book before. Did a few essays in school though. That's counts right? Seriously now, I've been thinking about this sci-fi novel for over a year. It will be my first attempt at "serious" writing. I had no idea that a book which is entirely made-up would require so much thought and research.

Learning facets of a foreign language or two. Creating facets of a foreign language or two. Studying historical events. Creating historical events. Grasping at old physics. Creating new physics. On and on.

While researching this story of mine I came to realize that we are not now living at the peak of human achievement. We are living at, what will one day be called the "Dawn of Civilization." We are the Modern Mesopotamia. That's intense! And I want to convey that in my story; which takes place ten years ago.

This is scary.
