I'm a former lab tech turned science teacher who gave up the daily grind and paycheck to be a stay-at-home-mom to my two kids, which is its own daily grind (just no cash at the end of said day). My kids are both in school now, which allows me to write full time. I am also the organizer of the NaNoRebels (new for 2011)--a group of writers embracing whatever they *can* do during this November.
My first (completed) novel was started during NaNo 2007. Yeah. It's pretty much hidden in a trunk under a bunch of blankets we don't use because they're heirlooms. It might see the light of day again when I have time to rip it to shreds and start over. (Um, that's the novel, not the blankets.) NaNo 2008 helped me produce my first published YA novel, Pretty Souls. My NaNo 2009 project started out as a space western and...didn't work. I still loved the concept though, so in the spring, I dusted it off and re-worked it into a steampunk/alt-history. It shrank from a novel to a novella and got a new title. Badlands released from Carina Press last February. My 2010 NaNo novel, Kiss of Death, released a couple months ago from Mundania Press.
My 2011 NaNo project is currently waiting for me to find the time to drag it out and shine it up, and in addition to the above-mentioned sales, I've sold nine other adult titles to various e-publishers. You can find me all over the web, but I'm most active on Facebook, Twitter and my blog.
