Synopsis
Allyna is an assassin-in-training in the medieval kingdom of Nethairia. Netharia has been at war with the Rogalian kingdom for years and years, and the origins of this conflict are well known to all. Allyna has been taught her whole life of the evil of the opposing kingdom and has been trained to infiltrate the kingdom and help to bring it down from the inside. She is on the verge of completing her training, when something happens. One of her trainers is acting oddly, and she follows him when he leaves the camp near nightfall and heads into the forest. He is meeting someone and she knows that he is now a danger to all of them. She tries to slip away, but is discovered.
The trainer pursues her relentlessly into the deeper parts of the forest, and there he abandons her, leaving her to die. But his plans go awry when he has strayed too far himself and falls prey to some of the more unique creatures of the forest. Injured, she tries to find her way back, but finds that she has gone too far. Still, she presses on through the darkness, only to be captured by a strange band of people roaming the forest.
She is held captive and slowly discovers that all she has been taught has been a lie. She finds friends in the most unlikely of places and discovers what it means to truly care for someone other than herself. When she, with the help of her newfound companions, discovers that even the war itself has been orchestrated by someone high up within the hierarchy of the kingdom, she knows that she has to do something. It is up to her and her comrades to end the war that has been going on for almost two decades and to open the eyes of the people to the slavery that they have been subjected to.
