The man in the red coat led the way to the dragon's cage, walking backwards as he talked and cajoled the people following him. Keys hadn't realized there would be so many people who would be interested, but then he figured it would be new and exotic. They needed a change in their very dull lives and, aside from a possible royal wedding, this was just the ticket.
He looked up and saw a pale figure running away from the cage. From this distance, he could definitely tell it was female, but she wasn't wearing any clothes. 'Interesting,' he thought with a grin. He might have to go searching for a new bit of flesh to taste when he was done here.
The group paused before the cage, murmuring to themselves. The man in red paused before them and began his rather long-winded speech.
"Behold! The mighty blue dragon! Although not quite as feared as a red dragon, nor as fearsome as the small golds, blue dragons are still quite ferocious. We were lucky to catch this one off guard, since they are also among the trickiest of dragons." He could feel the crowd growing restless and figured it was just the presence of the mighty beast.
One small voice in the back spoke up. "What dragon?"
The man laughed. "Silly child. Why this one, of course!" He flourished a hand at the cage and followed it with his eyes. He realized then that the child had been right. The cage, which should have been full of a very tempermental blue dragon was empty. His eyes widened and he gave a squeak, running up to look inside, as if the creature could have been hiding.
"Guards! Guards!" Two dwarves, short and stocky, ran up, saluting the man.
"Where is she? That blue dragon somehow managed to escape! Find her!"
Keys turned thoughtful. 'She, huh... I wonder.' He looked in the direction where the pale female had gone running and started thinking.
