Alexis Lynn, a slightly neurotic lab technician, has just inherited a mothballed Scottish whisky distillery. She departs for Scotland to view her inheritance and learn all she can about whisky, a beverage she's never even tasted. But jealous relatives kidnap her and leave her for dead in the hopes of taking the inheritance for themselves.
Alexis survives, but now has to hide her existence from her relatives and her assassin as she travels across Scotland with a Nessie obsessed woodsman. Traveling through the whisky underworld of ancient castles, stolen distillery designs and modern water thieving techniques, Alexis begins to learn why her relatives so badly desire the mothballed distillery she inherited, and why it was left to an unknown American descendant. Now she has to right the wrongs done to her, form an alliance with her assassin and defend the rights of whisky makers throughout her ancestral land of Scotland.
So open the Uige Beatha (Water of Life), and prepare yourself for an engaging romp through Scottish whisky history, a touch of romance, and a flock of suicidal sheep.
