Author bio:

Hi there! I'm Karen Garvin. I've lived in Maryland most of my life, but I was born in Florida and moved to England when I was just three weeks old, where I lived for three years. I still remember riding steam trains and going to the beach at Great Yarmouth.

I've worked in the printing and publishing industry for over 30 years. In January 2003 I went back to college to finish my bachelor's degree that I had started in 1983. I enrolled at UMUC and graduated in fall 2009. I am currently enrolled in an online masters' degree program in European history at American Military University. My intention is to write my thesis on some aspect of Victorian Britain. At this point I'm not sure if I want to do a PhD program, but *if* I do, I would love to do it in England!

In the meantime, I'm trying to turn my interests of history and Victoriana into a damn good Steampunk novel. Or two...
