Synopsis
For Sarah, life has consisted of a fast-paced and competitive career, and little else. After ten years on the job, she has a chance to simplify her life - to slow things down, rediscover herself, and maybe spend her time on something more than just work.
A few months ago, Sarah hired a contractor to build her a house out in the country, away from all the noise and distractions. On a frigid autumn evening, with construction nearing completion, she drives out to the site to see how her new home is progressing. The crew may have gone home for the night, but Sarah soon realizes she is not alone.
She is quickly drawn into a world that she thought had died with her childhood nightmares - a world inhabited by ghostly children and shadowy figures, where death is only the beginning.
What begins as a ghost story becomes a battle between good and evil, with Sarah caught in the maelstrom - struggling desperately to save those she loves.
Excerpt
There was blood on the floor. Not just blood-stains, but fresh, steaming pools of blood. She was standing in it and some of it had splashed up onto her jeans. It was still warm. Sarah saw dark spots swirling around her vision. Her legs were giving way and she struggled to keep her feet. She was passing out. She would fall face-down in this pool of someone else's blood and she couldn't do anything to stop it...
