My first year of NaNo was positively amazing. I had two friends doing it with me, and three and a half hours every day to write in school. I finished with about 75k words.
Second year... not so much. Now out of school and without a set time for writing, it became a chore. I barely scraped the 50k, but I did it. I was continuing last year's novel, which sits, still unfinished, at 150k.
Third year, I got additional motivation for the Aywas.com community, and finished that accursed novel. It was just under the 50k, so I finished up the month with some short stories. The novel sits at almost 200 thousand words, has been edited twice, and is now being read by friends to get feedback.
This year, the fourth year... I won't be participating. As much as it pains me, I just have entirely no time. Busy in a Visual Arts program at college. I don't really want to bother when I know I can't complete it.
