Author bio:
My name is Ashley and I'm a write-a-holic. :)
I've never attempted a novel before, but always have wanted to write one. Until now I've sat back, watching those who dared to take the plunge and biting my fingernails in envy and angst. And now Nanowrimo leaves me no excuses. I suppose November is the realization of many nightmares and dreams, but I'm very excited.
Thus far, I've written mostly poetry, songs and short stories. I've tried my hand at journalism and script-writing, but I'm not certain yet as to whether or not either of these are my forte. I love trying new things though, and who knows? Maybe I'll try my hand at screenwriting next or, say, novels :)
The biggest writing lesson I've learned is this : DO NOT OVER EDIT (for this reason, I'm very exicited about the no editing rule during Nano!!!! ROCK ON!). And there are no rules. You make your own. What works for you may not work for others, and vice versa. So don't stress, just write! Follow your heart, be who you are and you can never go wrong.
"There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed."
-Ernest Hemingway
