I'm mostly a machine learning researcher who has a penchant for the odd and the weird, and thus end up doing a multitude of things that have little bearing to what I actually need to do in real life to make a living. This is my third serious attempt (without much of a plan!) to write a full-scale novel under a deadline with other writing to be done.
