Author bio:

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, I've wanted to be an author since I was around 7 or 8 years old. Most of my focus has been on science-fiction and fantasy since then, and I'm currently working on editing my 2008 NaNo novel (SF) so that it's ready to be submitted to the publishing world. I moved to St. John's, NL, Canada, in 2011, and unfortunately, that move affected my novel writing that year, resulting in the one year so far that I haven't won. That's not going to happen this year, though! Especially because with my work hours, I'll be able to participate a lot more in the St. John's NaNo activities, which I couldn't last year.

My 2012 NaNo novel breaks from the pattern of SF and fantasy writing that I've been doing since I started writing, let alone NaNoWriMo, but the main subject of the story is one that I've been dealing with, and I seem to have felt the need to get it out there to the wide world. "Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe" is a working title, suggested by my writing buddy Rabilair; it may (and probably will) end up changed once I actually start writing the story. "One Foot Out the Door" is a title that I suddenly came up with as another possibility. We'll see what happens.
