Synopsis
#1 (finished at 71k)
Pias Familie ist besorgt um sie. Sie ist abgemagert, isst nicht mehr, schläft tagsüber, wacht nachts und fürchtet sich aus unerklärlichen Grunden vor Sonnenlicht. Aus Ratlosigkeit und Angst um Pia lassen sie sie in eine psychiatische Klinik einweisen, doch auch die Ärtzte scheinen nicht so recht zu wissen, was ihr fehlt.
Allerdings ist Pia nicht psychisch krank. Sie weigert sich zu essen, weil einzig und allein Blut ihren Hunger stillen kann. Sie ist ein Vampir. Zumindest ist es das, was sie glaubt …

Pia’s Family is worried about her. She lost weight, refuses to eat, sleeps all day, stays awake at night and fears sunlight for whatever reason. Out of helplessness and anxiety for Pia they admit her to a mental institution but even they doctors don’t seem to know what’s wrong with her.
But actually Pia is not mentally ill. She refuses to eat because only blood can still her hunger. She’s a vampire. At least, that’s what she believes …

Halluzinationen. Magersucht. Schizophrenie.
Das waren doch alles nur Versuche der Ärzte, sich zu erklären, was sie sich nicht erklären könnten. Auch wenn sie anderes behaupteten, war Pia nicht psychisch krank. Sie war ein Vampir, dessen war sie sich sicher. Warum hätte sie denn sonst rote Augen? Warum würde sie denn sonst nach Blut dürsten? Warum würde sie denn sonst von Sonnenlicht geschwächt werden?
Na eben.
Sie war nicht verrückt. Viel eher waren die Ärzte verrückt, da sie nicht fähig waren, zu akzeptieren, dass auch Dinge, die nicht in ihren Lehrbüchern standen, wahr sein konnten; nicht begreifen konnten, dass es jenseits ihres Horizonts noch so vieles gab, was sie sich nicht vorstellen konnten und was vielleicht auch gar nicht in die Grenzen ihrer kleinen Welt passte.

That all were attempts of the doctors to explain what they could not explain. Even though they told different Pia was not mentally ill. She was a vampire, of that she was sure. Why else would she then have red eyes? Why else would she then thirst for blood? Why else would she then get weakend by sunlight?
Exactly.
She wasn’t insane. Rather than her the doctors were insane, because they were unwilling to accept that also things not mentioned in their textbooks could be true; because they couldn’t comprehend that beyond their horizons was so much that they couldn’t imagine, so much that probably also didn’t fit into borders of their little worlds.
