Ina world with a pantheon of billions, the gods' abilities of bilocation are used to power faster than light ships. Trouble arrives when the chambers that house the gods are disturbed, and it's up to theologistician Malachus Morietzov to soothe the troubled gods of his vessel.
It is said that it is impossible to herd cats, but more difficult still is herding gods. Theologistician Malachus Morietzov was a man familiar with these difficulties. Capturing enough gods to power a starship was his apprenticeship, getting them all to pull the ship in the same direction was his journeyman's work, and now his wits and skill would be put to the test in the vast loneliness of outer space.
