Author bio:
A workaday workadyke of the north. Publication specialist by day, writer/poet/blogger by night (& lunchtime). I've been blogging a lot over the past several months about certain political issues here locally, but I'm eager so eager to turn back toward writing writing writing of my stuff. NaNoWriMo is a great way to get that writing momentum back again. And if you really need to know more about me, you can get the full skinny on the "About me" page on my website.
Announcement: My short story "Cold," which is a revision of the first day's writing for NaNoWriMo 2007, was published on the 2nd anniversary of its writing -- on November 1, 2009 -- in issue #12 of Crossed Genres, http://crossedgenres.com/. "Cold" is about two young women on a planet in the late stages of terraformation. What a great way to kick off NaNoWriMo 2009!
My short story "Pushaway," which came out of characters and situations developed during NaNoWriMo 2009, will be published in the Crossed Genres anthology Subversion, http://crossedgenres.com/titles/subversion/, on December 5, 2011. "Pushaway" is the story of how a girl subverted the abusive religious community on Mars in which she grew up by taking to heart the lesson that they forever after tried to beat out of her: "The Kingdom of God is within you."
