Nano Indy (newly christened "Nindy") is having it's first post-Nano event. Short Story Week, which is exactly what it sounds like, will take place this February, the 19-26.

The Kick-off Party will be Sunday Feb. 19th at 2:15pm at

The TGIO will be at the same place and time, on the following Sunday, on the 26th. Even if you don't want to write a short story, feel free to join us for some excellent hang out time and conversation.

Hey guys, in case you were unaware, we are only 600k-ish behind our total word count for last year and we have blown the donation total from last year out of the water. Over $1000 donated. You! Guys! ROCK!

Only 5 more write-ins before the end of Nano, then a post-Nano MoJoe's trip, and the TGIO. If you were ever planning to come out and hang with your fellow Wrimos, the time is growing short. xP

So I just looked up the info for last year:

That's a lot of words, even if we are down Over 100 Wrimos according to the (possibly inaccurate) charts I have. But I say they are DEADWEIGHT! We have trimmed that fat, leaving only the toughest, strongest Indy Wrimos to battle on. We still have 5 days left.
That's only 532,414 words per day to hit last year's mark.
We have 450+ Wrimos.
That's only 1183 words a day, per Wrimo to meet last year's number.

So don't just write for you. Write for us. We were on the list of Wordiest Regions last year, folks. I refuse to lose that title.

Just a quick reminder, if you haven't backed up your novel recently now would be the time. Stick it on another computer, a USB key, or just email it to yourself as an attachment. Take it from someone who knows, there is nothing like the pain of losing your work.

In case anyone was wondering, we made the Office of Letters and Light $28.80 while eating us some nice chicken, writing us some words, and watching the world's coolest magician. Yeah, we are that awesome.

Midway Party - the Information

When: Tuesday, Nov 15th - 5pm to 10pm

Why: Oh, come on. You really have to ask?
Who: All ages, kids included. They have a nice little indoor playground and everything.

I will have plugs. I will have stickers. I will have plot bunnies. I will have... stuff. Huzzah!

As we stand here, on the cusp of week 2, I have only two things to say:

1) Unlike the old site, this one automatically adjusts for Daylight Savings Time. So there's no need to go check on your timezone.

2) I am ridiculously behind, but never fear. I shall not fail you! Last year Indianapolis ranked 41 out of over 550 total regions in terms of Wordiness overall and ranked 30th in words-per-person. Together, we are some of the top Wrimos out there and I believe in your continued awesomeness.

Wow. You people are blowing this thing UP! If you haven't seen some of the word counts people are bragging about over on the Facebook group, I would go.
