USA :: Massachusetts :: Elsewhere
Notes
We're up to the first weekend and for many, this will be a chance to catch up. You will want to be at 10002 words by the end of Sunday night.
If you are following the daily calendar on what to write each day, here are the next few entries:
DAY 5: (Reach 8335 words)
Time for your main character to reflect upon things. This can be done by introducing something from their experience. You can use a newly-introduced the character/item as a means of conversing or otherwise processing their experience.
Example:
When I got to the bakery shop and saw Kate was already there, I grabbed my doughnut and coffee and considered how to tell her what had just happened...
DAY 6: (Reach 10002 words)
Fill in more details for your setting and/or characters and/or background.
DAY 7: (Reach 11669 words)
This is the lull before the main action in the story. Here is where you can describe a normal everyday event with your characters acting as they normally would.
DAY 8: (Reach 13336 words)
Hint at the conflict. This is where the first real hint of what is going to happen happens. Feel free to have all of your characters react to it.
I hope you are all happily NaNo-ing! Be sure to check your NaNo mail for instructions on how to get into our very own Chat room. Feel free to set up virtual write-ins in this room.
I put together a daily outline to help you if you don't know what to write about. Keep in mind that this is *just* a suggestion that you are not at all obligated to follow. It was derived from a generic story outline.
Days 1-2: Introduce your main and secondary characters.
Day 3: Introduce another major character or item by having your main character (MC) interact with it. This can be done via action, conversation and/or thoughts.
Day 4: Introduce a problem/conflict/excitement. Have the MC get involved in it.
Welcome to NaNoWriMo 2011!
"Elsewhere" is filled with many groups of active Wrimos. Please send me any regularly-scheduled or major events and I will add them to the calendar. You share your calendar with the Milford/Bellingham/Franklin region and are welcome to join us at our events as well.

About us
Elsewhere, but definitely NOT nowhere. This is the group for Wrimos who live outside of the other Massachusetts regions - but just because they are spread out doesn't mean that there aren't any events! This is a very active group.
