Happy New Year. Here we are at the beginning of 2012 and there is so much potential in the air. Keep writing, keep dreaming and keep coming back here. Remember to tell me if you have things you want on the calendar in "Events and other things all year long". Camp NaNoWriMo will happen in July and August. You can always stop in at the OLL store, or send in a donation. It's a great new year, let it be filled with all things writing.

Congratulations Twin Cities Region - the Donation Derby stats are out, and although we did not win first place in our league (we are in league 1), we did have a respectable showing. We are 1373 active members (this means how many entered any kind of word count for this year), and donated $4260.00 which works out to $3.10 per person, almost a third more than last year which was $2.44 per person. Thanks for being a generous, good hearted region. If you forgot to donate, or have some extra money now, OLL is still looking to try to close their books for 2011 in the black, and be ready to take on next year and the inevitable growth. You can continue to donate and purchase items at their store. Have a great Holiday Season, whatever you celebrate, and keep on writing! Nell

Welcome to week two. I hope your characters are still talking to you. If you struggle, this week - that's normal. And we have the cure coming up this weekend - Te 28 Hour Writing Tour is coming to a neighborhood near you.
We still need a little help with the tour. Please look in at the "Official Writing Tour Route, Locations and Hosts" thread below. Even if you can make only one stop along the way, please consider hosting it.
The buddy function is now working on the site, so go in and set up some writing buddies on your author page!
November 1st approaches quickly. Check the calendar below for plot-ins, prewriting sessions, and the annual KICKOFF at Nina's Coffee Cafe on Friday October 28th from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm. This kickoff is a chance to met other wrimos in the region face to face, talk about your novel, get an official Nanowrimo sticker for this year to put on your laptop or your notebook, or just add to your collection. Any questions, feel free to ask either here, or by nanomail to Nell or Becca.
