It's November 25 and the Validator is open for business.
To find it, go to My NaNoWriMo and click on the "edit novel" tab. Under the field where you can just type in your word count there is a link "I'm ready to validate my novel now". Click there. A pop up will appear where you can paste your entire novel and submit. It will count your words (actually it counts the spaces between words) and gives you your official number.
Good luck and happy winning everyone.
It's close to Thanksgiving, which probably means a lot of us are going to be hanging out with family over the coming days. This can be both inspiring and frustrating (usually at exactly the same time - amazing how they do that).
It also means that we are getting close to the end of the month. Closer and closer to the TGIO where our fabulous prizes will be awarded. Do you have your achievement card? Remember that each achievement is one entry in the raffle. Even if you aren't going to get all of them, try for as many as you can. And for the Basket of Writerly Goodness we have the following writers in contention:
Foxyemb - $285
buppyspek - $95
Aurora17 - $25
lizabella - $20
Koroak - $30
Falen1 - $5
If I've missed anyone, let me know. If you set up a Stayclassy account, send me the link. If family, friends or random strangers hand you money for the OLL, tell me about it.
Happy Writing and Have a Good Holiday
Welcome to Week 2. Please remember that your novel is important and any editing that needs to be done can wait until December.
I hope you all are getting out to plenty of write-ins, meeting new people and generally having fun. Write-in hosts, please log into the site and post when you start your write-in and tell us how to find you. This will ensure that all us introverted types know what we are looking for before we have to talk to a stranger and ask if they are with NaNo.
Good Luck and Happy Writing
We're just a couple of days away from the start of writing - does everyone have enough pens or keyboards? Have you scheduled all your write-ins? Have you introduced yourself yet?
We've already had our first major event - another wonderful and crowded day at Nina's. We met many new writers and reconnected with old friends. Our next major event will be the Countdown to Midnight at IHOP (near Mall of America). We hope to see you there.
Also, if you got your achievement card and had us punch it already - please NaNo mail one of us so we can keep track. Extra records ensure that all will get credit where credit is due even if your characters eat your card. Thank you.
Welcome to the 2012 NaNoWriMo season, everyone!
As you can see, the boards are sparkling, shiny new! Stop by the Intro thread and meet up with friends, or make a few new ones. Also check out the calendar as we approach November for our fabulous events! We're excited to see you all soon!
