Time to bust out the big spatulas! Call in sick to work, take your kids to your parents house, get a big bag of chocolate & sit your butt in that computer chair and finish this thing!! You can do it!! This is the final day, make it epic!!
It's the final week! Use the rest of your weekend wisely, you still have plenty of time to make it across that finish line! Turn off the internet, get the kids out of the house, tell your friends you are deathly ill & can't hang out, go to a write-in! Do whatever you have to do to get those final words on the paper! I believe in you! & so do the writing gods! Good luck! :)
“Best advice on writing I’ve ever received. Finish.” – Peter Mayle
We are halfway through this madness! I want you to take a moment, look at yourself in the mirror (or computer screen) and tell yourself, "You are freakin' awesome." We have all made it this far, and we can't stop now. If you are feeling a little low on your word count, or a little lonely from all of the writing you've been doing, I hope you'll join us for the Evening of Scribbling Recklessly! There will be prizes, coffee, and other heavily caffeinated writers to cheer you on in your progress! By the way, don't forget to back up your novel!
“This is how you do it: you sit down at the keyboard and you put one word after another until its done. It's that easy, and that hard.”
― Neil Gaiman
It's the second week! It's time for the meat and potatoes portion of the writing. It's the most delicious part. Hopefully some grand epiphany has hit you over the head with a mallet, but if it hasn't, check out the "writing prompts" thread for ideas. If that doesn't work, just throw in some tap dancing lemurs. Just remember that no matter where you are right now in your novel, know that you are not alone. You can do this! Gogogogo! And by the way, don't forget to back up your novel!
“We have to continually be jumping off cliffs and developing our wings on the way down.”
― Kurt Vonnegut
Happy NaNoWriMo! It's the first and best week of NaNo! (In my humble opinion) It's a week full of endless character development and plot creation! Hopefully the excitement has swept you off your feet and into your computer chair. Don't forget to back up that novel every day. Don't forget to not edit. And most importantly of all, don't forget to brush your teeth. Your friends will thank you. :)
"When asked, 'How do you write?'
I invariably answer, 'one word at a time.'”
- Stephen King
