Donation Day!

If you haven't received Chris Baty's email about Donation Day, you'll be receiving it soon. Today is the day all Wrimos are encouraged to contribute to this awesome event that is NaNoWriMo. There are many ways to donate, which you can read about in the email. But as your ML, I would personally like to encourage you. NaNoWriMo is an incredible event, and I have benefited from it personally, and as an author. As, I'm sure, have you. Even the smallest donations help this program continue to make differences in our lives, and the lives of so many aspiring writers, old and young.

Wow, Week 2. Did you think you would last this long? Now, most experienced Wrimos will attest that Week 2 can be pretty tough. You've forged ahead with all your great ideas...which maybe you've written already...or which maybe are not taking shape the way you imagined...or things are spiraling wildly out of control...or your characters are trying to kill you in your sleep...

Snap out of it. This is the time to push forward, no matter what. It may feel like torture to keep writing this story. Doesn't matter. You may get death threats from your characters. Doesn't matter. This is Week 2. You keep writing.

If the going gets tough, call upon your resources. Get yourself to a write-in. Stop by the chatroom and get some moral support. Participate in word sprints online. Do what you have to do to keep writing. No matter what.

Go go go! NaNoWriMo has begun, and we are off to the races! Now is the time to charge up your wordcount. If you need motivation, join one of the many write-ins happening across Utah County, you can find them on the Calendar or in the forums below. You can also visit our chatroom, where Timmy may offer you drinks before he tries to kill you. There are all the reasons in the world to keep writing--most of all, because at the end, you will have your novel!
