EEEW isn't something you can just put in a thread. It's more than an idea, it's a decision you make to turn your NaNoWriMo adventure into something truly memorable... and how better to make it memorable but with WRITE-INS!
Feel free to organise your write-ins. Make them fun, plan to be there but don't plan much else!
Some friendly tips
Snack always keep up the conversation; think red frogs, jubes, gummies!
Remember power cords and extra adapters.
Just remember your basic saftety rules
1) Make sure you know where you're going and that someone else knows where you will be and for how long
2) Hold the write-in in a public place; library, cafe, restaurant... anywhere that you can come and go as you please.
And go forth and be EEEW!

Guys are seriously painful. I'm thinking of posting the convo up on lj later just so you can all see how freaking ridiculous he was.
I made it to uni on time! Well actually, 6 minutes late. Stupid nonparking. But I think I did surprisingly well on my test which is a shocker.

Yes, I had to have a link so that people in other regions know exactly what EEEW is. I can totally see someone going "hang on a sec, what the hell is EEEW?" so I linked it so they can find out. :-D

I think it should be something that makes them go looking for it!
It's the Adelaide phenomena sweeping the region! :)
All Adelaideans (and South Aussies in general) should take this and put it in their signature.

I can't believe this thread died already. Horrible.
pkgirl - YOU'RE IN! I'm sorry I didn't say that sooner <<; But welcome aboard ^___^ The first step to nonrecovery is admitting you're EEEW =D
Okay, so to get this thread rolling, I'll start the discussion.. how is everyone coming along with their novel planning?
Last night, I was up until 6:30 because I couldn't sleep, but what's awesome is that the last few hours consisted of novel planning. It was sudden inspiration hitting which I'm grateful for. My novel has started to look extremely daunting but this has got the ball rolling. Maybe I'll be more planned than I think by the time November starts...
how about you guys?

As in you were awake the whole night till 6.30 am? You need a good sleep pattern so you can totally destroy it during November with sugar and all-nighters.
I've had a few of my plot twist become a bit more solid. I didn't have a reason for my FMC being captured and experimented on but Christina you said something and it wasn't relevant but it worked! Now I'm trying to steer it away from the prophecy and get a bit more sci-fi into it.

Hahahaha, ooooooooooooooooor I can just keep the tattered sleeping pattern I have now. Works for me.
Don't you just love when you're talking crap and something good comes out of it? Yeah, I'm brilliant like that.
What do you think of the title, "Ambrosia's Burden"? Yes, I changed my FMC's name because Alexandra sounded way too modern.

I'm baaaaaack. Melbourne sucked balls and the US embassy was a pain in the butt. But I am now legally allowed to work in America. Yayness.
I like the name Ambrosia, though Alexandra isn't modern. Think of Alexander the Great -- Alexandra is the feminine version.
My plot got stuck on the plane and it hasn't come back to me yet. :(

Okay, yeah I cheated the invisibility disease and signed off, cos I really wanted to know who had posted <<;
Yes, I know it's not modern (Alexander the Great is the first reference to come to mind when that name is brought up ^^) but the fact that Alexandra is a name still (kinda) commonly used today makes it sound more modern. Well, that's what it sounds like to me.
Plus, now I love my title, so I don't feel like changing names back. haha. <<;

I like Ambrosia's Burden.
I reckon you could tweak it a bit too if you wanted.
The Ambrosial Burden.
Ambrosia; burdened <---- cause I like to spice up the title a little.
Of course, it only matters if you can read this post. :)

Alexander isn't new but he isn't really old either. Alexander the Great was around in 350BC. Thats a long time from 9500BC and the Atlantis myth.
I think that there wasn't obvious Greek names around 3500BC. You could just pick through Greek history and choose what you like.

You've already joined, just by posting in this thread. :)
Anyway, I think this can go here because it's rather wacky and I reckon it was caused by the meet-up yesterday.
I had a dream last night where it was November 1st and I was so excited to start NaNo, I wrote and wrote all day and all night -- and wrote 60,000 words and finished my story. And so, because it was absolutely perfect (yeah, right) I submitted it to a publisher that afternoon, and got a letter back the next morning saying that they were sorry, but my submission was not right to become a new design on a Guess wallet.
Yes, it was a very strange dream.

I think Christina means the midnight chat that results in everyone abandoning the conversation at midnight to write. We could actually have word sprints!
