Hello! I'm a 4th year Wrimo who just moved to this area. Anyone else doing Nanowrimo from in or around Mercer-Hermitage-Sharon-Grove City?

Hey there, I'm 5th year Wrimo, and I'm an ML for the Butler area. My in-laws live out in the country in Mercer, just outside of Grove City, so we are up that way a fair bit.
The husband and I play D&D at Bell's Comics in Grove City every Sunday night, around 6:30pm, so I was thinking we might head up there early each week, find a nice meeting place for Mercer county peoples, and have a few write-ins if anyone would be interested. If anyone knows a good meeting place, please let me know, otherwise we might be able to hang out at the comic book store before the D&D rowdies show up.

Hey There! I'm only a second year Wrimo and I live near hermitage and sharon. I was worried I'd have no one to talk to on here. :)

Grove City is okay with me, as long as it's easy to find. At the moment, I know where the outlet mall is, but anything on a main road would be good. Afternoon or early evening works best, so Sunday around 4:30 or so? I've never found that much writing gets done at get-togethers, but it's nice to chat with other writers/Wrimos. Do you generally "write" at a write-in? ;-)
Has anyone sent in the event to a local paper yet? Someone in our group did that last year and it was nice publicity for the event, except they did it too late for others to join.

This is my neck of the woods, too. There's a new Starbucks in Hermitage--I haven't been there yet so I don't know if it's writer-friendly.
I've made a few NaNoWriMo attempts. I signed up this year, but I don't know how much time I'll have to write yet.

It's pretty easy to find, and not far from the outlet malls. Bell's Comics is in the shopping center where County Market is. It's right off the main street in Grove City, the same one that takes you past the college.
Actually, I do generally write at a write-in. The first 10-15 minutes are usually about chatting with everyone, then after that, it's down to business. 4:30 sounds like a good time to me as well.
So it sounds like a plan, 4:30pm at Bell's Comics in Grove City, PA, Sundays in November.

I've been to the new Starbucks ... was glad to see it open. It's rather small, so there's not a lot of sitting space, but they were friendly! Of course, compared to what I'm used to, I'm still amazed at how friendly the whole area is.
I think I have seen that Market building in Grove City. Easy enough.

In the plaza by Pat Catan's/Office Depot (by Applebees) in Hermitage. It just opened Sept. 28.

It's beside Office Depot, in the new construction area -- on 18, south of Home Depot, if I remember right, or at least in that general area.

Can everyone make Bell Comics in Grove City on Sundays?
Is there an independent/family cafe or such in Hermitage we could use for a kick-off party? I go to Starbucks, also, but I like supporting locally owned businesses and they're likely to be more appreciative and apt to let us put up posters to announce the event. Any thoughts?

I don't know about Hermitage, but there's The Coffee Grove in Grove City...

How about yourselves?

I actually can't believe there's a Mercer County group in here. I'm glued to the center of Sharon lately.

Ooh, that sounds promising! Any idea about their hours? Though I can check it out for myself this Sunday when we're at Bell's for D&D. My husband grew up in Grove City so I am pretty sure he can find The Coffee Grove. Might be a better place to hang out than Bell's since nerds = LOUD. Anyway, I will definitely be looking into that.

Not sure what the hours are, but I can check when I go downtown tomorrow. I feel like they close around 9, but I'm not positive. Just in case you have trouble finding it, it's on the left side of Broad Street, past the traffic light, right next to Subway. If you pass the ugly acid-trip-inspired mural, you've gone too far. :)

Is Broad Street anywhere close to 258? 258 is the road Bell's Comics is on, right? I'm coming from the courthouse area in Mercer. Can anyone help with directions?

Yay, we can find that, no problem. I asked the husband where it is, and he knew right away. Sounds like a good plan to meet there on Sunday afternoons instead of at Bell's. Some of those nerds are gassy anyway, lol.
Anyone have a preference on what time we meet? Earlier in the day is better for me. Like 1pm-ish, which I think you'll agree is "early" on a Sunday.

I'm in Hubbard now, but I grew up in Sharon, go to school in Hermitage, and work in West Middlesex. I'm new to all this, so I'm very happy to see others in the general area!
Incidentally, I noticed a conversation on meetings and whatnot. If anyone is mostly available later on the day on Sundays, I'd really like to set something up for that.

Okay, I should have mentioned this earlier, but we'll be up in Grove City today at Bell's Comics, probably around 6pm if anyone wants to stop in and say hey. We have some goodie bags leftover from the Butler County kick-off, and will hand those out to anyone interested. They are REALLY sweet! Also, these will be at all write-ins until I run out of them, and I've got about 6 left.
Next weekend we will be out of town, so I highly encourage y'all to meet-up around 1 at the coffee place, or whatever. The weekend after that, and all other weekends til the end of November, we WILL absolutely 100% be at the Coffee Grove at 1pm on Sundays.
Also, I made a calendar of events for Mercer County over on Google Calendar. Anyone who wants to add their own events, shoot me a nanomail and as long as you have a gmail account, I can set it up so you can edit your own write-ins into the calendar.
Calendar is here.

Here's a link to the google map of the Coffee Grove.

That should help you out- maybe try using directions on google maps. I'm sorry I'm not much help because I am not too familiar with Grove City. My husband went to high school there, so he knows it way better than I do.

Take 58 out of Mercer straight to Grove City. You'll pass a Wal-Mart on your right. The plaza on the rightt after that is the one with the comic shop in it. If you get to Sheetz, you just barely missed it. If I remeber correctly, the plaza is set up in an L shape, and the shop is in the inside corner. If you continue down that road past that plaza, you'll hit Broad st right by the McDonald's.

So.. Sundays at 1 pm at the Coffee Grove?
