Welcome Worcester 'WriMos! I love the WWW...
For the returning authors, you know the drill and welcome back. For the neophytes, WELCOME! We all hope your first year is successful and fun. Sariah and I are already busy planning events. We have a regional mascot who will be debuted as soon as I can find an image of him.

If you have a picture of the Candy Pooping Moose, please let me know. I desire him for my icon. This year we name him and he shall be in everyone's novel. He should be a main character with LOTS of dialog. In fact, if someone writes an entire story about him that would ROCK! Just giving you ideas.

Kick off party will happen at the end of October where we will meet and greet and pick challenges. One of us will also have goodies to give away. I have some left over tats from last year still. Let us know if you are closer to Leominster or Worcester. I think we will stick with Panera as our location of choice due to good hours, free wifi and yummy food.

I am totally going to win this year!

I'm not sure yet if I want the details of the Candy Pooping Moose. But I'm definitely out of the loop on that one.

Last year the candy pooping moose had a place of honor on my MC's counter in the kitchen. It was just one of those things--every time the characters were blabbing in the kitchen, I'd break up the dialog with someone lifting his tail. This year I'm writing a science fiction story (I think...not positive on that), and my goal is to get that moose in there on page one. If I can get it into a SF story, there's NO EXCUSE for anyone. There is a place for the Moose in every story.

Say, did we ever name the Moose?

We never did, we just found our mascot. This year we have to name him. For a SF novel, the moose could be an artifact from the past.

Yes! Come to the write-ins and meet Mr. Moose, The Candy Pooping Moose! He's a great mascot.

And I love Google images. This isn't exactly what he looks like, if memory serves, but it's pretty close and gives you the general idea.

Seeing that you asked, I personally am much closer to Leominster than Worcester.

Candy Pooping Moose? O_o Uh-huh...wouldn't that be more of a Maine thing?

That's it! That's him! I thought I took a photo of the box last year, but I am using a different computer this year than last so it might be hard for me to fine.

For the record, he was the thing I tossed into the idea hat, and my novel (which I had printed by the company that offered to make you on free copy) was called The Candy Pooping Moose.

We have stickers and tattoos, but not yet. Yes, they're just the wash off variety.

Times and venues vary. They'll usually be at Worcester/Shrewsbury's Panera Bread or Leominster's Moose Creek. And they're probably always going to be on Saturdays. We're hoping to have some write-ins in Gardner, and those would probably be sometime on Friday.

Drat... that's what I get for going to the "kick off party" thread first instead of reading this one first. Yeah, I'll be out of town this weekend, so I will miss the initial kickoff party. *sigh* But I want to know the name of the moose... Bullwinkle being taken - I can't think of anything else. But I'll find a place for him in this story too. *grin*

The Candy Pooping Moose has a minor (but important) supporting role in my novel, as one of the main characters talks to him when she's in a quandary.
I wonder what "Candy-Pooping Moose" would be in Frence - anybody?

Er, French, that is. Spelling disappeared two nights ago at approximately two a.m.

We came up with a final name for the Moose at the meeting. Let's all welcome our official mascot:
Mr. Candy Pooping Chocolate Hare Bullwinkle Rocky Boris Natasha Garth Moose MD, PhD, MLS, DDS, AA, RN, ABD, DVM

Worship him as you would any other NaNo god.
