As my join date should convey, I'm new to NaNoWriMo this year. I kind of unofficially did it last year and ended up with slightly over 30k words, though I'm convinced I can make 50k this year. I'm a junior at Cincinnati Country Day (anyone else from there?) and I write mostly science fiction. Well, just thought I should say hello, and I am proud to be the 300th member of the Cincinnati Region! I hereby declare myself the Leonidas of NaNoWriMo Cincinnati.d

Welcome to our fun and crazy 'little' club. :) WOW do we realy have 300 ppl from Cincy now?? How cool is that?!
Oh, let's see, this is my what...fourth year I think. I have only gotten at least 50k words one year so far, which wasn't last year, when I only wrote about 28k. Well, here's to another wonderful NaNoWriMo experience this year. People to meet, stories to write, ideas to get on paper! :)

Welcome, giuocob! (And welcome back, JeanetteNorman and RDWilliams!)

This is my 7th year of insanity. I've managed to finish for the last three years, but two of my "wins" are horrendously bad. Thank goodness NaNo is all about quantity over quality!

(I'm guessing that the members count is showing everyone that's ever registered from Cincinnati. Or maybe we had a huge onslaught of novelists on the first day... who knows?)

I have been doing Nano since...2002? This year is going to be fun because I will be running from recording studio to laptop and back for most of the month. When not working of course..cough cough.

Ahem. ;) This is my 6th year at this, and fair warning - I've always been awful at it! I slack on the forums, and I slack on my novels, to the point that I've never finished one. But! I keep trying. Sixth time's a charm, right?

Whereabouts is everyone? I'm in Anderson Township.

I actually live in the CinDay corridor, in Warren County... just about 45 minutes north of Cincinnati proper.

Next month's going to be crazy hectic for me. Work, a convention, three birthdays (my own included!), and Thanksgiving in New York with my fiance's family...

But hey. Life's no fun without a challenge!

Second year.

I live in West Chester.

I almost got to 40,000 words last year, before I was so rudely interrupted by the flu. I hope to finish this year, and I especially hope everyone stays healthy for our 2007 season! Stock up on chicken soup and Vitamin C!

Sidenote: I am currently in my 6th month of pregnancy. So let this be my creative year! :-D

@kathrynhr: you live in West Chester? I work in West Chester! Small world (in a strange, offbeat sort of way). And I hope the baby brings you much encouragement!

I know my fiance is pulling for me... XD

Hmmm, no one from my area yet. I'm from Price Hill. Anyone from the West Side?

I don't live over there, but I'm over there more frequently than most who live in the boonies like I do. I have a friend who lives on the West Side.

I'm in Price Hill, too...just moved back there in August from Clifton.
I was *going* to do nano last year, but life totally got in the way.
My whole life has changed, and I'm living with a writer now, who's totally supportive, so I think I can actually do this this year.
Now to just come up with an idea...sigh.

One thing I have noticed abut Price Hill over the last few years is that it is a whole series of novels in different genres. All sorts of different people live up here,nu?

well, we all be a bit 'different' up here. hehe I think it helps to deal with this 'inbetween' kind of place(or at least that is how I think of it). For those of us who work downtown, we pass through a poorer/rougher area of town everyday, and are stuffed up against the border with Delhi, and turn around and you are in Westernhills, or Westwood, or Cheviot. Hmmmm, maybe we get inspired by the view of downtown and the river?

Hi! I'm Sarah, and this is my fourth attempt at NaNoWriMo. The last three tries, I was at OU, failing consistently to meet with the Athens group even when they convened at my favorite coffee shop. ;)

I live in Bethel, but I lived in Pleasant Ridge for 14 years, so I know Cincy pretty well. Judging by the occasionally decipherable notes I make when I wake suddenly at 4 a.m., I'm writing a fantasy novel this year, probably young-adult level. The only factor that remains constant in my head is no vampires, since every girl I know between the ages of twelve and seventeen is currently gushing about Twilight.

Since this is the first year I've been out of school and had the opportunity to avail myself of vodka-laced "inspiration," I'm pretty optimistic about this year's prospects. How's everyone else feeling?

Very much so - go two blocks and you're in a totally different neighborhood. :) My boyfriend (who moved down in August from the Akron/Kent area) thought we live in the 'hood. I told him "No, that's DOWN the hill. Trust me, this isn't it." :D Of course, then he started working at the BP at Hopple (nights - we both work 3rd shift)...now he knows better. LOL

I'm pretty optimistic. I could be mistaken however, for I am quite naive in the art of NaNoWriMo-ing so only time will tell 8]

Wow, I hear you there about Twilight. All my friends have read that book and it's getting quite ridiculous. I tried to read it... but gah... I'm no fan of romance novels, vampire or not.

I'm next door...Batavia area.

This is my first time at nano, but will be my sixth novel length ms (two are trunk jobs). I plan to put enough into it that I can edit/revise it into a "real" ms after I finish the editing on my current project.

Heh, I'm doing vampires...and I sure wouldn't bet on kids liking it, LOL. The more blood and violence...the better.

Well, the Powers That Be are still setting things up for the MLs, so I'm not official yet. I guess that makes me the artificial heart or something....

Hello all!

This is my first year here! I am very optimistic and plan to finish early (an hour to spare?). I live in Loveland, work in West Chester (where I will secretly be writing from when I have free time!).

Nice to meet you all.

Welcome aboard Blueneko! An hour to spare is still finishing. :) The one year that I finished, year before last, I actually passed 50k words about a week early(amazingly). I am confidant this year, that with the proper inspiration, that I will again make the 50k mark. Last year I hit a wall in my story, at about 30k words, and it spiraled down hill form there.
