I don't know which one I want to do.... I have too many ideas.

1. A war between different kind of magic. I'm revamping it with a new lead character. I hated the other lead character, so I deleted her out and put in a new one. This may not seem very original from the offset, but I have all of the world built, so I know it has its uniqueness. It illustrates falling in love and then breaking up... The risk of this is that I know it too well and I really want a break from fantasy.

2. A mystery science fiction thriller.
A female detective whose been sleeping with her boss finds her boss dead. Prominent people and insignificant people turn up dead. The killer claims to be from the future, and his next target is her and her unborn child. I don't write mysteries... so I might fail at it.

3. Romance story
More of a personal exercise. A woman marries a long time friend, fed up with all the bad relationships she's had intending to have fun without love for the rest of her life, but he ends up loving her. (Old plot, but good exercise) It currently doesn't have more plot than this... --;;

I'm a mystery fan, I tend to write primarily Crime/Detective fiction (although sometimes I do mix in fantasy and horror elements), so I'm biased and want to say that the second plot is the one to go with, but really, based on such small synopses it's really hard to say, one way or the other, which would be the better one to write. The real one you should pick is the one that you would have the most fun writing. If you want a break from fantasy, pick one of the other two. If you think you might not write a mystery well, then that might be a reason to pick that one, to see what you can do with it, or to go with the Romance instead, but it's something that you should, hopefully, be stuck working on every day for an extended period of time for a month, so pick something that sounds worth sticking with.

I'll put my vote in for number 3 :)

I'm such a hopeless romantic, and a sucker for these types of novels. And sure, it may be the same plot over and over, but it's the unique way that the author manages to tell the story that is brilliant. Everyone can put their own spin on a romantic novel :)
