Hello fellow writers! Another year has come and is on it's way out! I am so looking forward to this year's nano because I feel that it's going to be bigger and better! Oh, by the way, This is Xander, your shiny ML who was formerly Gai Daigoji for the past two years! I want to welcome all returning and new participants! How has the year been treating you? Got any fun and juicy new ideas that are just dying to be written? I'm being lazy this year and continuing the story I started halfway through last year's nano!
I can't wait to get this kicked into gear and I can't wait to see you all again!

Hey! You got a new name! Was wondering who you were. ^^
The year's been pretty shiny for me; I moved into a new apartment, got a nifty raise at work, and have written more then I thought I would...plus, I've actually managed to send out stories for publication. Nothing but rejections yet, but my fingers are still crossed and I know I'll hit gold eventually....even silver would be fine with me. ^^;;
Honest;y, I've got no ideas what I'll be writing this year, hopefully something that sinks it's claws into my brain and doesn't let go until the end of November - but I definitely cannot wait to get this crazy event rolling once again!

Congrats on getting your writing out there and getting rejection notices! I have yet to finish anything, let alone send them away!

It's my first one. You know how they say you always remember your first. Nano looks like a good way to push beyond some self-constructed barriers and have fun. It also matches the tee shirt, which I think is a good thing.
Looking forward to the sound of the gun telling us it's time to start. I have never written on a laptop before - everything, and I mean everything, is handwritten. But at this pace, I won't last, so laptop learning begins November 1.
Feel l am about to start a marathon. Must shop for new shoes.

Thanks! ^^ It took quite the effort to actually stuff them into envelopes and release them...^^;;;
Am looking forward to the kick-off party, any more news on that other than the e-mail??

The first year you do NaNoWriMo is full of brazen and unabashedly excited expectations. You hammer into yourself that this is going to be a hard thing, yet with your mind swimming with ideas it's hard to believe it.
North San Diego County really is "Not really San Diego but not Los Angeles, either". I live in cheery old Vista and such is good enough for me. I've been writing a lot of stuff but never finishing and always feeling like something's wrong with my writing. What I need to do is charge into the written word without any inner editor stopping me, and then slowly retrace my steps through what I've written and come out with a passable novel. NaNoWriMo has presented an excellent chance to do this, which is why I signed up.
I've been waiting for NaNo 2007 for a while. I had the luck to find out about this event last year -- about three days before NaNo 2006 ended. I figured it was a good thing and set about to waiting for the next round. Such came by, and here I am as I promised myself. Almost at the midpoint of October and it's getting more exciting every day closer it gets to the event beginning, Due to schedule stuff and what not I won't be able to do the whole "Writing from 12:01 on out" thing. Sleep steals so much precious writing time.

Hey all, it's my 3rd year running and I'm looking forward to the test. At this point I'm kinda vascillating between finishing up my last year's effort (I won with it but it's by no means finished) and starting anew. I'm also starting to seriously consider polishing up the first few chapters to start shopping for a home with it. (EEK!) This is both super exciting and super scary. I'm worried I may never finish up my first story, as I have a bad habit of that, but want so much to start off running with this new idea...
Damn you, plotbunnies! Stop it with your tantalizing distractions!!!
I look forward to meeting you all soon...though probably not any of the weekends. Right now is the last weekend before Spring Escondido Renaissance Faire hits which will be consuming my time, and my soul, until it's done.
Any of you wish to come and hang out (at least during the last weekend of October) you're welcome to come looking for the red head in yellow at the Archers of Ravenwood encampment (the one with the Archery range). I'm usually around there. Ask for Annie Maloney (my faire persona). *done pimping*

This will be my fifth year participating and I can't wait to get started. I also have the problem of starting a story and not being able to finish it. *crosses fingers* Maybe this year?
