Mua ha ha ha. I have convinced several other DHS students into joining nanowrimo! Many have agreed to join us at the Steaming Bean on Saturday. Hopefully many more will join our ranks soon. I'm 48 years old and not a DHS student and it is possible that I am sane, even though I am a psychologist. I plan to be there at the Steaming Bean 10/13. One of the DHS students is my daughter, but I can state definitively that I am not the fat lime weasel in question. I'm not fat at all.
I teach at Fort Lewis College and this will be my first try at NaNoWriMo. Any other baby boomers out there?

Ha ha very funny CLS (which is my new abreviation for canyonlands_shika, because I'm to lazy to type it all out), but my mother is not a fat lime weasel....whatever that means. Anyway, i'm so glad that we will finally have a meeting on the 13th, go NANOWRIMO! If you need me to do anything ( a powerpoint, cookies, mathcing sunglasses) just tell me!

Do you have an easily transportable (is that a word?) boombox-type thing? It might be cool to listen to WriMoRadio. It would be an interesting mix between that and the violin music they always seem to have playing there.

Finally! I knew she'd break doen and sign up eventually. So, Alyssa, Frankie, Kyle, Nikki, etc. still need to sign up I guess but they probably won't until after the meeting. Umm...oh I have a good CD player thing that would work for when we show everyone the podcasts, but I don't know if they have an easily accesible outlet, though I would assume they do. I mean, come on. Oh wait...yeah, they do. So I( can bring that unless we find something better. Do you guys think we need anything else? I liked son of a fat lime weasel's idea of matching sunglasses. Awesome! Though note the post said "mathing sunglasses". I totally though you meant sunglasses with formulas and stuff on the side and attached calculaters you wear in math club...or something.

Hey there! Glad to hear others in Durango are going to try this NaNo thing! I have already signed up and have been trying to get my brother to as well. I'm not sure if I have convinced him yet though. I haven't had the patience to wait on the snail slow website so I hadn't seen this thread until it sped up. I'm not in school anymore, but I would still love to come to the Steaming Bean, unfortunately, I am working that day. Hopefully it won't be the only get-together so I can make it to another one.

This is going to be great. I'm a high schooler at DHS, with topic ready and already working on plot points and characters. So I can't wait to meet ya'll at the SB this Saturday.

Wow, this is great! It's nice to see so many Durangotangs coming out for nano this year. It looks like it's going to be an interesting month!! For those of you who can't make it on Saturday, don't worry. I have a feeling we'll be having more get -togethers. Hopefully before November starts, so we can brainstorm some last-minute ideas together and what not. I'll bring it up on Saturday and figure something out. Wow, it's the 9th already? Oh my god, time is running out!!

I'm still working out the kinks for it and everything, but yeah, it should be really fun to write!

Sorry I missed the meeting at the Bean yesterday, things came up. I'll try to make at least one before the month starts. Also, I swear that this thread didn't exist when I started the other one (slow forums), so I'm going to stop posting there and just use this one so it doesn't get complicated with two Durango threads.

I haven't really decided what I'm going to write yet. I've got a couple of ideas I've been kicking around, but I might also cheat a little and tie my writing in to an existing project.

Hello all of my NaNoWriMo friends!

Everyone has been saying that they think we need to have another NaNoWriMo meeting before we throw our lives away to the soul devouring phenomenon that is NaNoWriMo. I would love to get a date out there so that we can start scheduling everything. I'm thinking October 27th, which is a Saturday at any coffee shop in Durango. I was thinking either at the Steaming Bean again or at one of the many Durango Joe's, but I'm open to anything. I understand that the cake was a big hit so i'll try to bring another form of sweet, sugary, food.
I think that by now we all know what NaNoWriMo is so I think we can skip the intro to the program. I think by October 27th we should all know what our plots are so we can use this meeting to throw some ideas around about characters and plots. Please let me know if this date works for everyone and if not we can schedule a different date. Thanks to everyone.

For all you DHS students, just to let you know, Mr. Nash is ready and willing to arrange for you to get HS credit for NaNo and also has offered space and resources at school if you want it. Talk with him if you're interested. Also, the Durango Public Library would like to have a NaNo exhibit in November. If anyone is interested in that project I have the name and phone number of the guy to talk to.
I'm saving the afternoon of October 27th for a meeting. Where and what time?
