Heh, it's a secret new victim who shan't be appearing much.

But just to let you all know that you aren't alone. There is another Aberdeen victim here, stupid enough to attempt Nano again after failing badly the last time.

Were you at the meets (the writing sessions in the pub) last year?

I'm not Aberdonian, but it's the closest city to me (I'm actually down in Angus, but shh!) and so I'm jumping on this group like it's a bandwagon going out of fashion!

This I'll be my second NaNoWriMo, but in a change from last year I'm going to actually speak to other people about it and do a bit better than last years 30k, so I guess you can call me a new victim!

Not a newbie to NaNoWriMo but a newbie to posting on the forums so be nice to me! lol :)

I'm going to attempt NaNoWriMo for the 4th time this year having failed miserably twice and danced around my living room with joy at completing last year. I'm not holding out much hope for this year as I'm going to be moving flat's right in the middle of the month but hey ho - I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best. :)

Hiya all. I'm back again after failing completely last time.

Still not sure if I'm going to take part this year or not to be honest! Didn't help that I could remember any of my log in details. I'm not every good at dealing with deadlines but I'm thinking of giving it enough go. after all if I can keep writing posts for all the rp groups I'm in I can manage to write a good plot for this I hope.

I look forward to meeting up with some of you at meets if I do take part.

Hi Quisitor, I was worried you were going to skip out on this one and that I'd be forced to sit in Archies by my lonesome :-o Good to hear from you. I'm up for our Pre-NaNo meet and our first bashing session - I wrote a really good beginning to my last NaNo... I believe there was a chicken in the first line (courtesy of a sprog of yours) ;-)

I'm just as excited about this year as last year.

Yes I do still have your book, Christina, though I lost it a couple of days after the party and didn't find it again till last week so I still haven't finished it. I'll bring it to the first meet.

I don't know if I'm going to go for it this year. I have been through some bad stuff that I don't feel like talking about and it's messing with my mind. On the other hand I've never been more in need of an escape hatch into my brain so maybe NaNo could be just the antidote I need.

So just to get a rough idea of when people are available can everyone who's interesting in a meet tell me which are the best days for them. I'm best with evenings apart from Friday and Saturday and I can manage any time on Sunday.

The natural time for a meet would be either this coming weekend or the beginning of next week. I suggest Sunday afternoon/evening but if a weekday evening is better for the rest of you it's also fine with me. I think it's also a good idea to pick a regular meet day so we can touch base, inspire each other and poke anyone who needs a poke.

Okay since my mind has been overloading me with ideas for this years Nano I'm going to give it another go. My best times to meet up for meeting is properly Sundays as well.

It'll be good to met up with people again, I still haven't got myself a laptop but I'll surrive I think! I'm a lot better at writing a lot more words at one go than I was last year. Just hope the pain in my hands doesn't get too bad.

I can do Sunday this weekend. I don't mind what day/time (as long as it's not early) that we have our meets. An evening meet and a lunchtime meet on a weekly basis would be cool, I'm up for it. I'd live in Archies if I could, during NaNo. I get more words down in that place than I do in the ever-distracting home.

I know what you mean. It's amazing how much more I write in there. I wrote most of my best scenes there last year.

I've been failing NaNo for years now in Yorkshire, but I've only just moved up here to University... so hopefully this year's the one. Nice to actually be somewhere with other NaNoers.

I have a plot for my Nano this year, even to the point where i even have a title *grin*

Ok, so is everyone happy to meet up sometime Sunday? Maybe for an afternoon cuppa? It'll be busy at lunchtime, so maybe 3pm? Archibald and Simpsons.

If I can make it I'll be there. Of course I don't know anyone, so will probably end up standing around glaikit like for a while asking everyone in Archies what they've got planned for November and trying to phrase it as innocently as possible!

Not a problem. My picture is in my profile - I'm tall, skinny and have long brown hair. I'll be in a brown and tan patterned jacket and a yellow scarf. I usually carry a shiny black handbag.

I will also be there. I know Sibyl and she knows me. I haven't been able to sort out a profile picture but I will be the fattest woman in Archie's and I'll have a walking stick.

Hi everyone.
Good luck come Thursday. I'll certainly need it!!! I have neither a plot, nor a plan, but hey, at least I have cleared out the study and turned it into a writer's den, cleaned all the windows, and generally tried to put off thinking about what I am supposed to achieve next month.
Are there any writing sessions or sorrow-drownings in the area? WOuld love to meet some NaNoWriters!
