Launch

Is anyone interested in a Mississippi kick-off meeting? I live in McComb, so I'd prefer the meeting to be somewhere between Jackson and Hattiesburg if I am going to run the meeting, but there's no reason why people can't run other meetings in their own areas. IF people are willing to drive to McComb and IF we can get more than 10 people to confirm that they are absolutely coming, it might be worth looking into reserving a meeting room at Golden Corral or something.

Other Meetings

11/9 to 11/11
I am also planning to be in the Jayess area for a dog show from Nov. 9-11, with any luck at all I will be available either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night. At this point it all depends on it depends, since I am starting a new job and need to be a bit flexible in my scheduling.

11/17-11/18
I am definitely planning to request these days off for a UKC dog show in Long Beach. I would love to meet some of you coasties. :D Any thoughts on where we could meet would be terrific, since I'm not really familiar with the area.
If we have a small enough group, I'll rent a hotel room (so I don't have to drive back and forth to McComb) and maybe we can meet in the lobby.

In any case, I'm open to suggestions!

A kick-off meeting would be heavenly. Me, I can definitely make it to McComb, and if it is elsewhere I might be able to get a ride there. And, I didn't know there were dog shows in Jayess.... boy, I need to get out more, eh? lol. I'm available most nights, 'cept Sunday, Monday, and Wednessday. Though if it were necessary I could skip Youth Service on Mondays.

I'll try to make it to a launch meet. Obviously, I would prefer Hattiesburg; it is the Hub City you know.

We might have to meet where it's most convenient for the most people--and, actually, where it is most convenient for the ML. That's not to say that other kickoffs can't be run in other areas; unfortunately, I'm just starting a new job and I can't be as flexible as I'd like. If I can hold a meeting in the McComb area or within an hour of McComb, it would be best. Let's see what other responses we get, if any, before we try to settle on any one place.

Hi, y'all. I'd come up from the Coast to Hattiesburg for a kick-off. I'd love to do something the weekend of the 17-18th, but I work weekend nights, so I turn into a zombie on weekends. )

Would love to do a launch or meet up? Don't truly know my way around MS. Don't laugh, I'm being honest. I know where a few different towns are and do know how to use mapquest. Am available most days for short trips, my other half works nights. Available anytime Wednesday or Thursday, need to know a little time in advance so I can make arrangements for someone to come and sit with my mother, whom I take care of.

Well, I can't drive but if anyone wants to do a write in in Natchez I could probably make it. It's a great little town, and there's an awesome coffee shop here as well. It's about an hour from McComb.

Is there a kick off party or what? I could make Hattiesburg from the coast as well.. It would be great if we had a kickoff this weekend (I work weekdays in these times) where we could just write non-stop until everyone passes out or achieves injury in the form of crippling hand cramps!.

Hello everyone,

I am posting on here for one reason and one reason alone. After this past year's NaNoWriMo I became inspired by the effort which Seatle made in achieving the largest combined wordcount in the world (16,757,473 total combined words to be exact). It is that effort that has sparked my vision.

I say that we, the combined elite writers of Mississippi, ban together in combining our wordcounts for November '08 to defeat the superpower of Seatle!

All I need from you is your NaNo account name, an email adress, and a will to commit to the word count goals you set (whether that is 1 word, 50k to win, or whatever more). Please post that information on here so I may add you to the roster for a contribution in the pot of wordcounts.

Also, anyone who would like to help me in gathering other prospective WriMos within the state, or those that would compete for our state from the outside. Please, oh please give me their information as well. Any help will be appreciated in the utmost of fashions.

We can most definitely do this as the Mississippi NaNoWriMo Elite!
