Does anybody have their plot for this year's nano? I have a basic outline of mine, but lots of room to deviate when the time comes. Hurrah!

I am working on my plot and it's not going anywhere. I have tried about 3 or 4 (or way more) plots throughout the year and none work.
OH well... maybe I will just wing it again.

I already have the plot. Having worked with these characters pretty much nonstop for the last two years... I know EXACTLY what they're going to do :)

It's funny when something in your real life gives you the muse to create great work... I had some things happen today that took me into novel plotting and now I know (at in the early parts of my novel) what's going to happen. I usually only plan so much bc reality seems to seep into my writing and I know something is going to happen which will move my story along.

Have several ideas on how to start the beginning. I want it to grab your attention. The end is long way to being in sight.
Well at least Nov. has 30 days in which to use my creative juices.

TItle: Merry Christmas, Mr. Clooney
Genre: Chick Lit (I think)
Plot: One girl's adventure in finding the perfect gift for the sexiest man alive...who already has everything said girl could possibly afford.
Random Elements: men's fragrance counters, pigs, a vampire, a pick up truck, one gorgeous Australian guy....and a group of friends who feed (rather than discourage) the girl's infatuation with George.

Okay, I just posted a plot summary in the Satire/Humor/Parody forum, where I'm shamelessly willing to endure torment from other funny folks. Let's see if it stirs any interest among my homeys:
Based upon a "true" story, there's this woman in Las Vegas who needs a job because she's been alone since a car accident killed her husband and left her with only one leg and her therapist says work would be good for her, so she finds a job in this company run by a guy from Texas who is more interested in horseracing and Revolutionary War history than minding the store, and when he loses his biggest customer because her (secretly) transvestite son comes out as part of a sales competition, the whole company has to reorganize and everyone's afraid of being laid off so they devise various ways of ensuring job security, from impregnating the daughter of the owner's sister-in-law to blackmailing the boss's personal assistant, and walking over a bed of hot coals as part of some New Age team-building strategy, all the while trying to land this other really big account that ends up with a small private plane crashing into a building, but not before a frivolous lawsuit, a day trip to Santa Anita, a raucus luau, an evening at an all-male-revue strip club, an encounter with a vampire, and some embezzlement takes place, leading to this woman in Las Vegas again needing to find a job because....
Hmmm... that's not humorous at all, is it? Maybe I should change my category to Fantasy. Thoughts?

I want to read that in the worst way. And being Vegas, perhaps it should happen under the rollercoaster at the Sahara with a bottle of Old Granddad in one hand and a peg leg in the other.

I only know of Kinky as the candidate for Governor of Texas in 2006. Some of my friends voted for him. But now that you've directed me to his literary door, I see he's quite prolific. Will certainly take up your suggestion and check out some of his writing. Thanx!

Let's see... the plot. Well, The Age of Darkness is where things start to turn for the worse on Calthea, the world I created for The Blademaster Chronicles.
Thraal, the Bringer of Chaos, has broken free of his prison and has started to gather his forces. He has created the Nightstalkers, a group of warrior women designed to fight and kill the Blademasters. Calthea stands on the verge of war. The High Priest of Thraal, Adouon Darkholme, has created an army of undead led by a master vampire named Trakerin
Meanwhile, Alana Steeldrake, the Blademaster, has rescued the citizens of Valendale from their captivity by the Zeraphim and has defeated Kera Rayden, the first Nightstalker. Now, Lord Taelin, the LIghtbringer, has a new task for her... gather the new Blademasters together and bring them to the Temple of the Blades so that they can fulfill their destinies. But the way is frought with trouble as the army of undead has spilled into the Southern Dales from Draomyr. And Alana doesn't even know where to begin to search for the other Blademasters
Meanwhile, William Stonehands, the mage that travels with the Blademaster has his own journey to attend to. He must figure out what to do about his feelings for both Meryn Swiftfoot, the halfing he has traveled with for two years, and Silvestra Knightwing, the dragon he once loved and almost married.
It is a time of great change in the lives of the people of Calthea and in the lives of our heroes. Whill they make it through all right? Or will they crack under the pressure and thus allow Calthea fall into The Age of Darkness?

no problem. i had planned on voting for him but i was about to move to Vegas so i didn't feel right going to the polls if i wasn't going to be living in Texas anymore. he has a wit and a way with words that i've never seen before. your plot posted above reads like one of his books so i think you'd dig him.

Upon your advice, I stopped by the library yesterday and picked up three of Kinky's books;
- The Christmas Pig
- Kill Two Birds & Get Stoned
- The Prisoner of Vandam Street
The latter two are written in first-person, which is my choice for NaNo. I shall report back. Thanks for the tip.

My nano plot is really very much taken from my own life but greatly exaggerated. Bascially it's about a girl who has a warped view of how her life should turn out and more specifically her relationships and it's kind of a humorous journey about how she comes to what she really wants out of it all. I don't know. I have it listed under satire/parody/humor because I intend to make it really funny, but it may end up belonging until chick lit.

I told my boyfriend that I finally had a Nano idea and this is what I said: "It's like Misery meets Talented Mr. Ripley meets Shakespeare Behind Bars, but funny."
Heh. Should be fun! :)
