Is there any interest in a Lone Tree/Highlands Ranch meeting/write in? There are couple of places over here that I've talked to that wouldn't mind us coming in and having a write in.

If someone else was willing/able to do the organizing, I'd be interested; I just don't have the time to put one together myself. Where did you have in mind?

I might be up for something in the vicinity of County Line Rd. Were you thinking weekdays/weekends? I could probably make Tuesday nights.

I know that one of my catchup days for writer meetings is saturday early afternoons. I plan on doing those at Treo at Lonetree (Maximus Drive and Yosemite). I can do Tuesday nights probably, but I'm not sure where would be a good place to do it would be.

Do they not mind if you hang out for awhile with laptops and whatnot at Treo? I haven't been there but it looked sort of restaurant-y. I might be up for a Saturday or two if they are amenable to loitering writers.

I know there's a Borders with a cafe by County Line and I-25, but I don't know a whole lot else in the area....

Kyaa and I did it last year. They have free wifi and saturday mornings/afternoons are dead. I'll corner the manager to make sure he doesn't mind. As always, respect the places you write in so that we don't wear out our welcome.

Awesome, thanks for checking on that--though it sounds like there might only be 3 of us this year, so it'll probably be fine. Wi-fi and writing and food! It's everything I like. Just let me know what time/dates you'll be there.

I talked to Van and he didn't have any problem with it. I'm somewhat of a regular there (though less than I used to be), so I was pretty sure he wouldn't care, but I wanted to make sure. I asked if we could hide there on Saturdays morning/afternoon. :)

I work both Tuesday nights and Saturday afternoons. =( It sounds like fun, though, so if I end up having one off, I'd be happy to drop by if you're meeting that day/evening.

Raven--when do you have to be at work on Saturday? It seemed like we had a bit of a range for when we might meet on Saturday.

Well we can't meet there any earlier than 10, as they aren't open, but if we wanted to start early, I don't see any reason why we couldn't. That is, if you go to work with sufficient time that you could be there for a bit.

I'm due in at 1 p.m. at E-470 and Smoky Hill Rd., so I probably could do something in the morning, but I'd have to leave no later than 12:30.

Hi, I guess I'm a little late over here - I posted for Castle Rock in the "Elsewhere" forum last week but didn't think to look in this region.

So you're planning on weekly write-ins Sats 10a at Treo? I'll keep that in mind. I work on Arapahoe, so I could probably do happy hour get-togethers as well.

How does this sound for details of our Saturday meetings? The Treo site says dining hours don't start until 11 AM, so:

Where: Treo at Lonetree Restaurant
9070 Maximus Dr. Lone Tree, CO 80124
http://www.treolonetree.com/restaurant.html

Time: 11 AM - 2 PM

Date: Saturdays (Nov 3, 10, 17, 24?)

Rules: Lunch ordering starts at 11, followed by eating, followed by writing with possible scattered chatting

Sounds approximately like the plans I had when there were not going to be other people there ;)

Yeah, I get the times in the morning fouled up because 10 is when the serving staff has to get there.

If you get there after me, then just ask for where Darren is sitting. Everyone who works there will know who you are talking about. I talked to Van about it again last night and he is just going to throw us in the back room (we won't get much attention back there, but it will be quiet). There is a place to plug in our laptops, but I'll have to bring an extension cord and a power strip. I have a good one of both so it shouldn't be a problem.

I'll see you all on Saturday, then! (In work uniform, sadly, but I'll be there.)
Fourteen hours, fifty minutes, and a few odd seconds, and counting...*bounces in seat and grins madly*

Okay, I'm in Centennial, really close to Highlands Ranch, but I'm slow to come to the boards...I would be interested in joining you but having read the emails, I'm still foggy on date, place and time. Are you meeting this coming Saturday or next Tuesday? Theresa

Hi Theresa,

No worries about being late to the boards, you are still welcome. I can guarantee that there will be a Saturday Meeting from 11 till >= 2 pm. This past saturday we just had Kyaa, spleen and myself, but space isn't an issue, and it will be pretty quiet and moderately empty at this time of the day on a Saturday.

My lap top and I will be there. Thanks! Theresa
PS. I know it's a novel (okay not punny) idea, but I always bring a notebook and pencil too in case of technical difficulties.

Not a bad plan. Perhaps I should bring my old crappy notebook just in case as well. I would have another one to bring that I could harvest the battery from, but someone stole one of the matching pair of identical notebooks I had.

This is just a reminder that there will be a write in meeting at Treo in the back room at 11:00 am this Saturday (11/24). If you don't know where it is here is a google map of the place.

Here.
