Anyone have an idea they would like to share... possibly to generate more ideas or to change your own..

What is everyone's genre too?

Its amazingly weird where I get my ideas, but yes, within the last seven days or so I've gotten inklings of what to do.

This year my genre is Fantasy, and my theme is World-as-Myth.

Today I learned that one of my characters is going to accidentally pour Alfredo sauce on chocolate ice cream and bite into it.

I'm still not completely sold on the idea, but my idea is a recent high school graduate who works part time as a nurses assistant in a nursing home. She feels like she is just drifting through life, but finds some sort of purpose/meaning through her interactions with the residents and the stories of their lives. I'm not really sure what kind of genre it would fit into. I guess general fiction.

Mine would have to be classified as an urban fantasy, I suppose. The basic premise throws together three friends (a skip, a wizard, and a fellow without magic) who haven't seen each other since about age seven... and asks them to save the world from destruction at the hands of an evil mage who is bent on destroying the non-magical portion of the population. It's a bit tongue-in-cheek... slightly mocking the overly dramatic, must-save-the-world sort of fantasy.

I'm so doing this crazy life-with-West-Coast-Mafia thing that's the prequel to last year's NanoWrimo, which was this crazy thing about an ex-yakuza bioengineer who's one of those mad scientists who does an incredibly unethical experiment and is emo.

Or. Um. Something. It's easier to explain in person or with pictures.

Correction to my earlier statement: World-as-myth wasn't quite what I though it was, I'm actually more along the lines of speculative fiction only from a Fantasy focus rather than a SciFi one.

My idea is from the first idea I had last time. Kind of the "Hero's Journey" archetype with a Heroine and a major Angel-Demon theme.

Hopefully I can really get an idea...
