Hi!

Your friendly Pullman Municipal Liason here!

We have half a month before NaNoWriMo begins. I was wondering what your thoughts are regarding how soon you want to meet, AND/OR the NNWM Kick/Off Party. My personal suggestion is to keep the actual kick-off party closer to the start date, such as within the week before it or the day/night of. But that's absolutely no reason why we can't start arranging get togethers now. :)

If we decide not to meet before the Kick-Off Party, I'll eventually kill this thread and create a Kick-Off Party specific thread. Actually, I'll create one later regardless.

But this is already a great time to ask:

Do you know what your schedules are like?
Are your schedules pretty regular, or do they change from week to week or month to month?
Most importantly: What are GOOD DAYS and TIMES for you?

If you want to meet before the Kick-Off Party, please, suggest a date, time, and place!

Please note: I do not have a car, nor transportation at this time, so while I encourage you to attend both Pullman and Moscow meetings as you see fit, I'll only be arranging and attending Pullman get togethers this year.

Also please note: Sadly, the Pullman Regional Hospital has changed its security policy, and now it strictly enforces its visiting hours, which means they have a security guard kick out anyone who doesn't belong after 10:00 p.m., sharp. That pretty much limits any get togethers held at the Red Sage Cafe in the hospital to day time/early evening meetings ONLY. (Boo.)

Other places I can suggest on personal experience:

Denny's
Bagels & Brew (A new coffee/beer/bagel shop on Main Street.)
Zoe Cafe
Cafe Morro
That large study area in the Bookie.

Thoughts/suggestions?

Any place that's easy to get to by bus. That's all I ask!

That's a fair request to me too!

Hopefully as we all get to know one another we can consider car pooling later on, if necessary.

As it stands now, my availability is as follows:
Monday: all day
Tuesday: all day
Wednsday: all but 11-3pm
Thursday: all but 1:30-6:30pm
Friday: all but 11-3pm
Saturday: all but 12:30-5:30pm
Sunday: all but 12:30-5:30pm

Personally, Denny's sounds like the best bet, providing they'll let a gaggle of rowdy women (and the occasional guy) linger for hours after actually ordering. The other places I'm not familiar with, but am open to if that's what the group wants.

In other words, I'm flexable.

Oh, and on an entirely (semi)unrelated note, remember that card game we were playing last year? The one I offered to xerox and transfer to tagboard? It got lost in my room last year, but about two weeks ago I uncovered it, nearly completed! I'll have it ready to play the night of the meet-up.

I would love to get together with the Pullmanites before the kick off party! However, I was going to suggest this upcoming weekend... and realized my parents were going to be here visiting. Perhaps Sunday evening for an hour or two, though?

My availability:
Sunday: Available after 12:00 through a reasonable evening hour.
Monday: Not really... potentially late evening... but probably not.
Tuesday: Available after 6:00
Wednesday: Working all day (but I work at the WSU writing lab in the evening, and might be able to have informal write-ins there, depending on boss's approval)
Thursday: Not available.
Friday: Available after 4:00 or 5:00
Saturday: Available all day.

I live about half a minute from Zoe's... so I like that idea. =) But I also have a car, so I can get anywhere in Pullman (and if someone needs a ride, I'm happy to give one.)
Another note--I'm only 20, so I can't go anywhere that's for the 21 and up crowd...

The Daily Grind is another possible meeting place. They're usually crowded, but so is Zoe's...
If I understand correctly (and I'll double-check) the CUE building on campus is open all night--there's some chairs and tables and couches and whatnot that we could use.

Basically, I'm up for meeting anywhere that I'm legally permitted during any of my available hours. =)

That sounds like an idea to me. We could schedule it to encompass the couple of hours you CAN be with us, so that those who would rather meet for longer can hang out as long as they like!

So when exactly can you meet up with us?

Specifics? You want specifics? *puzzled look*

Sunday evening from about 3:00 to 5:00 is when I would be available for a meet-up. =)

Yes, because its never good to be vague on the specifics in these kinds of things. X-D

Well, that works well for me. The latest I can be anywhere is 6 p.m.

Is anyone else interested in meeting Sunday afternoon?

As long as it's in walking distance of my dorm or if someone could give me a ride (since Buses don't run on Sundays :( ) Sunday works. Saturdays always work better for me because of the bus, but it's okay.

As for the official times that work. After 4:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays works and after 3:30 on Fridays. Saturday and Sundays are completely open as well. Mondays and Wednesdays do not work (I have class until 8:40)

Is Main Street close enough? We could potentially meet at Bagels & Brew. (They allow all ages.)

Main Street's a little far but that's not a problem.

The good thing for me is I turned 21 just eleven days ago... So yay me!

I have a car and can give rides! (Of course, you'll have to leave when I do... which may be a little early...)

Unfortunately, I can't attend at that time.

First of all, I'd like to apologize for the lack of official communication about the get-together. We're still ironing out some of the communication kinks... sorry!

I'll be at Bagels and Brew at 3:00 this afternoon though, if anyone would like to stop by and chat about their plans for the month, as well as potential times and places for the kick off party! I'll be the blonde-ish brown-ish redhead in the grey sweater madly scribbling away in a notebook (no, I'm not cheating--I'm just trying to finish *this* story before I start my NaNo!)

Hope to see some of you there!

I'd like to apologise too, unforseen circumstances have kept me away today. :( I'm up at the library at the hospital, but really only briefly. I look forward to trying again in the near future, though!

........I seriously can't make Sunday, seeing as I was studying then.

Erhm. Um. I'm so busy that I'll tell you all what: set up a time that's good for you. If I can make it, I'll do my best to try to be there. If not.... well.... you guys have fun without me! Yeah! I smell like dead animals, anyway (when people tell you mammalogy class is fun, don't believe them).

Speaking of dead animals, weren't we supposed to have a diseased squirrel for a mascot?

Uhm. Uhm.... Yeah. Well. The best times for me would be Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays after 4. However, seeing as I'm usually braindead after school (you don't know the horrors of being in UI's BioSci dept!), I won't be any good with conversation or ideas or even writing.

.........It's so sad......
