Come on! We're a nation of over 1 billion people and all we have to show for that is 950 registered users with Home = India, no word wars, no tweeting and the forums are pretty dead too. 6-7 have announced a 30K hit.

Now I know that all of us have to work and NaNoWriMo would be especially hard on those IT pros (being one myself) with erratic and crappy work hours, often being asked to stay late and work on weekends & exam giver of all ages. But this is just one month - One single month of sleepless nights, endless coffee and encouraging each other can finally give vent to that story that's been bubbling in our minds since God-knows-when, the one we've been putting away "for another day, when finally all this rush is over and I get some time for myself".

Be more active people. We still have one whole week ahead of us, to do something we've always wanted to but could never bring ourselves to, fearing that whilst putting those wonderful images in our mind to paper, we might inadvertently taint them. But hey, no one else has to know, but us. And it is only one image. There will be many more where it came from. And its better to know than to keep wondering how that story would have turned out had you actually tried to do it.

My apologies if if have offended any of you with my rather lengthy rambling, but this is what I felt. Ending with a fav quote of mine:

15 days, 50,000 words? No problem! :-) This is the Xtreme Sports equivalent of Nanowrimo. Calling all word athletes...I've done this before, so it is eminently possible. And trust me, the adrenalin rush (not to mention carpal tunnel syndrome) of doing 50k in 10 days is something else!

Agenda:

1. Carry a laptop, sip coffee, and churn words out for 4-5 hours)
2. Discuss blocking points with fellow NaNoWriMoers for ideas.
3. Spend a few hours in the company of people who are also reaching towards "NaNoWriMo Ate My Life" forum
4. Focused discussion on writing. Yes, that's it.

What is NOT the Agenda:

1. Wandering away from the topic 'writing' to random discussions (Okay, this is allowed; but after the writing session is over). People who chat a lot while writing might want to come in at the end of the session.
2. Eating a lot and burrrp!
3. Non-NaNoWriMoers attending (There are tweetups and other meetups for this).

Possible Venue:

1. Coffee Shop, at a central location (CP?)
2. Or, you suggest...

When:

1. Sunday, 22nd November
2. Or, you suggest...

Suggest at least 3 people interested warranted to make this happen. Just 2 loners hanging around with their laptops in hand isn't going to be a nice site for the otherwise crowded coffee place (just kidding).

So, anybody interested and really would be able to take time out?

Hai Wrimos,

I just want to write in this thread, the way WE , who are all in 4 digit count (<9999), can reach the target.

I planned an idea to get into 50k within the upcoming 14 days.

Ok, we have to reach more than 40000 words. Thats the target.

What my idea is, we have to decide a target count per day ( It should be based on our competence.) and post in this thread. so it must get noticed so under the condition 'we have to show our face tomorrow here', we will DO.

And we WIN, if we reach that count within that day's 24:00 hrs.

I start first.

My current count is 7874. My target for today (17.Nov.2K9) is 15000.

I will post my success of this day, before 24:00 hrs today. still only 6 hours..!! gawd....!!!!!

Yeah! So I see all these people from Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and all meeting up and you know basically brain storming and thrashing out the sustainability of a plot or whatever it is that they do and I am left wondering why O why isn't anybody here in Bangalore doing the exact same thing?
