Howdy!
It's Lilly, the-still-not-marked-as-a-ML ML, here to introduce the idea of the (oh my osh kosh be gosh!) pre-NANO get together that let's us all gather in one place (I mean, how else can we meet each other in person and gadge how sexy we think everyone else is on a scale of one to ten?) and introduce ourselves/plan write ins/talk shop/drink coffee and look heinously like those artsy writer types! Yeah.
Anyway! So, suggestions? Where and when? I suggest-though this is really James' suggestion, but I've stolen it-the 24th of October at Hava Java at 7pm. Hava Java is downtown St.John's for y'all who don't know, and further directions could be given if we decide that is a good place!
Any other suggestions? Thoughts? Comments? Concerns? Bueller?

Foul, no rhetoric.

Wednesday, October 24th
7.00pm
Hava Java Coffee Shop
Downtown St. John's
Be there or you'll be oh-so-square.
Since Lilly can't figure out how to edit her post (my hero), I'll post it here. We've got enough yays back to have it on that day and time, so it's now official, oooooh.
If you're reading this and you're all "I didn't say I was coming yet", be sure to post and let us know so I can plan accordingly.
See ya'll there!

What a fantastic idea, Lilly! It's as if it came right out of my brain and fell into your post. ...only not so gross and brain-juice-like.
Anyway, I'm down with that, obviously. If anyone wants to try a different place besides Hava Java, we can go Coffee Matters (oh my, it's quite orgasmic, also in a not-so-gross way) or Coffee and Co. As long as I can get caffeine, I'm down.
Bueller?
Bueller?

Sounds good to me. As long as I can get caffeine, I'm down. (Ripping off James seems to be the thing to do..)

It's the latest craze, sweeping the nation. All the cool cats are doing it!
Or at least I am. And now you are. So that's two cool cats.

What a fantastic idea, Lilly! Yeah, that's right, I did it too.
Anyway, yeah, good idea and such. Haven't been downtown St. John's without my parents knowing exactly where they're going, but I'm sure I'd be able to find the place... once I can find downtown from MUN.

You just hop a number ten bus going downtown, little fella, and you're well on your way! Once you hit water street, get off at the court house (is it a court house? I dunno, I'm not from here) and walk a spell and you are at hava java! It's right by the candy store with the guy who has a tattoo on his left hand of a shamrock works. If that helps. Which I bet it doesn't.
Better directions can so be given if we pick hava java for sure.

Sounds good to me! :D I missed last year's thing that was something like this, so I'm definitely going this year. :D (I don't care where we pick, so long as there's coffee. :D)

Wonderful! Yes, I highly suggest going to it. I mean, not only do you get to meet fellow writers, but new people, people! James and I met at the first one and we've been bffs every since.
No matter what he tells you.

Well since bff-dom has just been thrust upon me like a big, yellow raincoat, I will simply smile and nod.
Since you can't see me smiling and nodding, I'll eat a cookie.
(Betcha didn't see that coming.)
(Also, my spell-check thinks "betcha" is a word. I think my spell-check has had one-too-many diction-tinis.)

That is an amazing simile. No wonder we're BFFs.

I'd go, but if I get raped...
Coffee Matters is damn nice, but I don't think they have tables suitable for more than a few people. Hava Java has group tables if we want to fit more than two or three.

I, for one, promise not to rape you.
The man has a point! There are more than two or three of us, so Hava looks good.

Finally, I'll be part of a writing community that meets at a coffee shop downtown on a semi-regular basis! I love being part of a giant cliché!
Just to clarify, yeah, I'm going.

'be sure to post and let us know so I can plan accordingly'
Are you changing persons on us/me or have you come to the conclusion that whatever you plan, I will go along with? Because that is true. I don't plan, I agree. Like...an agreeable person that a person who plans hangs out with...
OH! Like an advisor to King Louis, who just agreed and did what they were told lest their head be cut off! Bam. There's a simile for you.

Sounds like a neat idea. I wish I could go, but something about travelling 4 and a half hours to meet a bunch of half-crazed writers seems like a soundly unwise use of gas, so I'm gonna have to opt out of this one.
Needlessly complex sentences for the win.

Hopefully, the place is not too busy.

Wow, it's really hard to believe that it's almost that time of the year again. I'd be up for it but alas it's hard to commute into the city in the middle of the week, even though I'm just an hour's drive away now as opposed to the three hour drive when I first started NaNo. I hope you all have a wonderful time though! :)

Such as ML Burt, I won't make it either, seeing as I am also four and a half hours away. Have fun though, and I will hopefully get in on one of these parties in a year or two.
