I propose that we meet at Barnes & Noble on the Sunday before November begins (Oct 28th) for a pre-NaNo brainstorming session. Any takers?

Heh. I almost made this post yesterday, too. But I didn't want to start every post in our subforum.

So... what time are we meeting? 6? 7? 6:30? 6:42? I'm there!

We might think about having a "practice meeting" this coming Sunday, maybe at Fiddler's. They close at 9, though. So. I dunno.

Sounds like a plan. I suggest we meet at 6 rather than 7, since it's starting to get dark earlier.

So, to sum up:

Official kickoff meeting, Sunday, Oct 28, 6 pm, Barnes and Noble (on Grape).

As Josh mentioned, I think it'd be cool to have an informal gathering some time before that at Fiddler's. Personally, I'd rather do this on a non-Sunday, because if I'm at Fiddler's I'll need to drink, and I feel weird drinking on Sundays (yes, Indiana's puritanical laws have started to condition me). Anyone else interested? And which day would work best for you?

I have a major paper due Monday, so hopefully I'll have it together! We'll see.... Also, my we talked about NaNo in my Fiction Writing class last night. A few others may be interested. One girl suggested we meet up once a week and stuff. Would love to get EVERYONE together....

Michael

Sadly I will be out of town until the 29th. I'll miss you guys at B&N, but I'll be back in town in time to for the big first day.

I've been looking forward to meeting all of you, but I'll be out of town as well. I'll be back in time to start writing though.

Since I can walk to Fiddler's, perhaps I could stop by for a short spell. Hopefully. I really need to get through the next couple days, though....

Delusionally yours,
Michael

Okay, off to work on that paper....

Hey, everyone! It was really fun to meet up tonight. I think it's been accepted that there's going to be a weekly Sunday night meeting at 6 p.m., so I'll see you on November 4th at the B&N cafe! (Don't forget daylight saving time, unless you want the spare hour to novel in the cafe before everyone gets there.)

Is it too late to join the group of those going to the Sunday meetings? I just checked the thread and missed the meeting by a few hours. I don't actually know anyone on the board yet, but I was hoping to join you guys for the month of writing madness!

It's never too late! You're more than welcome to meet up any and/or every Sunday this November. I agree with what you said in the intro thread, just being around other NaNo writers is motivating--and our cafe meetings are pretty much always a good time. :-) See you Sunday!

Sorry I missed you guys. :-( If I get out of work early enough next week, hope to join you.

I admit to still feeling ambiguous about the task ahead. Have that idea. Still planning on attempting. But Everything Else is doing a pretty damn good job of taking over my brain.

Best to all you old school crew and the new folks! :-)

For anyone who may be wondering, we'll be meeting this Sunday as usual: 6 pm, B&N on Grape. (This is in addition to the Saturday morning gathering which I will most likely be unable to attend.)

I will probably never be able to make the Sunday evening meetings, but I will definitely plan to do the Saturday mornings at Bella Vita from here on out.
