I was surprised to see there was no Kingston Upon Hull region and that York was the closest place to choose (or am I just not looking hard enough?). Although I'm currently studying at Newcastle I was still wondering what Nanowrimo's we have over in Hull.
If indeed there are any but there should be its not THAT small of a place!

Presumably no-one from Hull has volunteered to be a Municipal Liaison for the area, which is how regions are decided.

Didn't we have someone coming over from Hull to one of our get-togethers last year? Or maybe it was someone from Leeds at Uni over there. No matter, if you can't find anywhere closer, you're welcome to join us. We might be headed York and Leeds, but actually we're from all over Yorkshire, Sheffield, Bradford and the like. it also helps to have someone to talk to when the 50k target seems out there beyond the horizon.
Keep looking though, I'm sure you won't be the only person in Hull taking part. Once a couple of you get together, it just seems to grow. Best wishes.

Ah I thank you for the warm welcome.
Yeah it'd be nice to go to a few of the get togethers on my weekends off and what not more then actually moaning that there was no Hull region as it seems I came of doing. I was actually just wondering if there were any other Hull participents.

There are a few of us in Hull, but we seem to be pretty quiet on the forums.

I think the regions are all pretty big - I think if you are even vaguely close to London, you'll be part of London, at least that's how I remember it!
There is also an 'elsewhere' board (not that I don't want you over here, the more the merrier!) where you might find some others from Hull lurking as well.

Is it worth trying to get a Hull write-in running? Would anybody actually come?

I would come if I could but I think the only day that's going to be possible is the 4th of Nov if anyone wants to do one then. At least thats the only time I'll be back I think.

I'm an honorary Leeds person, since I'm actually from there, but I live in Hull now. Good to see a few folk playing the game :)

It's great to know there are other people from Hull taking part! I'm on half term this week, and hoping to get a good headstart because the assignments will be rolling in throughout November...
Keep me posted on any potential write-ins. Depending on the time and location, I'll probably be able to attend. :)

I work weekends and go to college full-time, so evenings are really the only times I can sort something for a write-in. If people from Hull who are interested post on here with their free times, we'll see if we cross over and get a write-in organised for a cafe or something somewhere.

Sat here looking out the window at lovely Cottingham Road.
But enough procrastination.

I think we're fairly thin on the ground, but at least there are a few of us. I'm doing dreadfully at the moment. Not even up to my first 1,000. I'm looking forward to the weekend as a good chance to catch up!

Hello. I can't get over to York, how about meeting up on Sun 18th in Waterstone's coffee shop in Hull? It has a lift at the back of the shop in case the stairs are a problem, books all around and the coffee is strong. I shall be there at 11am, is anyone else interested in meeting for a chat?
----------Sorry if I'm supposed to go through particular channels to make a suggestion like this by the way.

Yet another new member from Hull checking in here (just off Anlaby Road)!
There does seem to be more than a handful of us now, which is great to see; at least there'll be a bit of local support come 1st November.
Incidentally, I think the idea of a possible get-together at Waterstones bookshop would be a fantastic idea - I'm hugely partial to their cappuccino ;-)
Really looking forward to getting to know you all.
