I honestly had no idea that there were people in Marion participating in NaNoWriMo. I was surprised when I looked at the MLs in Ohio and saw that my hometown had one. It just goes to show that people are writing everywhere.
I heard about NaNo my senior year at Elgin High School and decided to first participate last year, 2006 while in my freshman year of college. I am glad to say that I managed to finish with 52,008 words. Unfortunately I participate over an hour away from Marion.
Who knows, maybe I'll find myself visiting home some weekend in November when there's a write-in at the library.
