Its great that there are so many creative souls in Florida.
I set my hometown region as Tampa since I was born there and I haven't seen any forum listings for Hernando Co. Prove me wrong and I''ll change that!

I live in Citrus County, but I am always looking for any excuse to visit the Red Mule Pub.

The Red Mule Pub makes the best Hot Roast Beef Sandwich I have ever had, and if case you are a vegetarian they also have beer. Did you find anyone else from down there taking this project on? As far as I can tell Citrus County doesn't have anyone in this thing. I would love to get together with whoever can be found for a writing session or two. I feel like it will be hard to stay motivated for the month. And seriously go to The Red Mule Pub for lunch.

The Red Mule Pub is in the plaza near the Pizza Hut in Brooksville. Doesn't Brooksville have a Strabucks now?? That woould probaly be a good locale for a write-in. Let me know if you want to get together and work on the word count. Just three days to go. I have cleaned the house and gathered up the take-out menu's for my favorite places. I'm ready to go. Hope you are too. Happy Halloween

I'm working hard to get my workspace cleared out for writing. I have put a bit of a necessity only ban on fast food and eating out for the next few months. Since the entire family takes taekwondo its very hard to find free time to write much less manage cooking dinners on a decent schedule. Consequently we have spent a LOT of money on eating out. We need to figure out how to manage w/o that. The crockpot seems to be doing the trick. It should be interesting to see how I manage writing on top of everything else. I shall be very hardpressed to write 50k words but I'm gonna try my best!
My strategy is to write whatever comes to mind w/o worrying about connecting the dots. I figure that is the best way for me to turn off my inner editor. I have been working on character outlines so far. One of the characters has required quite a lot of research. Not even the MC lol. I have nothing more organized than that at the moment. I do not even have a plot or setting or genre. Hope I figure it out soon. only 2 more days!
I'm game for finding the Red Mule Pub. The 18th is out for me tho. Have a wedding to attend.

Kind of quiet on this Hernando Co. site....are you all working hard on your novels? Of course, this is the first time I have been able to tap into the forum since the site is so s-l-o-w. Must be some problems. Keep on writing. I have missed 2 days of writing and will miss another 3 or 4 this week cause we will be gone. But I am not going to pull my hair out about it. Good luck! Write on!

I am working on the novel. I agree the site is super slow. My patience ran out with trying to read thru the forums lol.
I really like the 4 characters I have been working on. So far nothing has happened to them, I did have a nice session just getting a romantically beautiful description of my MC out of the way. lol. I'll edit it later. Reminded me of when I was in the 8th grade.
I think I have a general theme to work with. Dont want to overdo it as then it could get preachy but its your basic how a fish out of water looks at western society.
It looks like this book will turn out to be an urban fantasy. I am using Tampa as my big city. Thought about using New York but I have only been there once.

Maybe we could do the Starbucks. Gather up all our favortie writing gear and soak up some coffee and some characters. I need some bad guys in my novel. So far my novel seems to be going ok. Am so tied up on filling in the background nothing good has happened yet. Mostly the State of Florida below the Suwannee is going to disapear. What about on a weeknight?? Yes the site is slow and i am having a hard time navigating it.
