I'm serious about getting writing times together.
I called Yaks and Bad Ass Coffee about their open times:
Yaks - on Bechelli, is open Monday through Friday 7am-10pm, Saturday 8-10 pm, Closed Sundays
Bad Ass Coffee - 200 Lake Blvd, is open Monday through Friday 5:30am-10 pm, Saturday 6:30-10 and Sunday 7-7.
I think having a weekend time and a weekday time is a good idea, although if we managed even one meeting in the whole month it would be an improvement over last year.
So, how are your weekends? I'm hearing people are working on Saturday - (two different people). what about Sunday? How about a 1-4 time at Bad Ass? or 1-5? (I'm pretty much available on the weekends anytime. Friday eve, Saturday anytime or Sunday anytime. Like I said I would prefer not to have to drive the pass after dark - but hey, Nano is all about the challenge, so.)
I don't know about weeknights. But to get the discussion started - how does Tuesday nights 6-10 at Yaks sound - or November 6, 6-10 at Yaks (just go for one to see if it flies)?
I got to go.
Ann

Let's see ... good times for me are -- any time from Saturday (after 3pm) 'til about 9pm on Monday. The rest of the week, anything after 3pm should be fine and I'd definitely make an exception with my typically early bedtime to make any meetings (heck, I'll be doing it plenty just to get the writing done!)
So, 1-whenever at Bad Ass on Sunday and 6-10 at Yaks on Tuesday works just fine for me. :)
(and, heck, I might break down and make treats, even -- it's been entirely too long since I've baked turtle brownies or double chocolate mint cookies)

I'm available anytime on weekends. Weekday nights would be difficult, because I work at 7:00pm (though I could miss a night if needed) and I have early classes in the morning.
So, I vote weekends at Badd Ass. If there has to be a choice.
Now, would this just be in November? Or would there be a time in October for a meet and greet type get-together?

I love 1-4P on Sundays. Weekdays are all but impossible for me with a wife in her senior year and taking 17 units at Chico State and four kids, two young ones who need lots of evening time and attention.

Sorry about the placement of this - I thought it was going under the Shasta County thread.

Oh Oh Oh Jen - that sounds so good. I've been on a diet for the past six months and I am going to try to stay with it through November. BUT if you did happen to make double chocolate mint cookies I may have break down. That or tape my mouth shut.
I have to say that the Sunday 1-4 time at Bad Ass seems like a winner. I will try to post this under the Shasta County thread to make sure all Shastettes see this.

It's all groovy Ann. The Chico crew did the exact same thing.

They're really good ... and I can balance it out by making something relatively healthy (zucchini pineapple bread, maybe, if I can dig up the recipe, or meringue cookies, which are pretty much fluff anyway). The occasional indulgence is perfectly fine, as long as it's occasional. ;)

I'd like to go, but being only 14 I don't think my mom would appreciate driving me up to Redding to a place with that sort of name =)

Tee Hee. Yes you should not be driving at 14 but the coffee house is named for the beasts of burden that traditionally carried the bags of coffee down from the hills after is was harvested. It's really quite a cool little place with a great salad for lunch.

Hey FfkFan - hi, I remember you from last year. Welcome back. It seems to me that you had a steep word count to make at the end of the month. Did you do it????

Hey =] Yeah, I think I wrote about 8k words on the last night and yes, I did finish, at about an hour before December 1st! It was such a great feeling! =P
Okay, I'll talk to my mom about it. Hopefully I can come, I'd really like to meet you guys and get some time to just sit and type.
