[EDIT:]
OKAY! The date is set! We'll be getting together on November 1st.
If you have a preference of time (right now it'll either start at 6pm or later), please let me know ASAP.
Also, if you have a preference of venue (or area of the city - ie: uptown), let me know.
I will keep this thread updated as details are confirmed.
Also: WOOHOO, IT'S ALMOST NOVEMBER!

Okay people - we need to figure out when to have our kick-off event.
Two dates that we're kicking around are:
Friday October 26th
Thursday, November 1st
General evening-type times for both, I think. Depending on the kind of response we get (and Mary's availability, since she's the other ML), I think we might have to try to do two small get-togethers.
This is where we need your help! Tell us (here or via email - st_john_nb@nanowrimo.org) if you'd like to meet up with us, and let us know what days/times are best for you. And if you can't make the kick-off, don't worry, we'll try to shake things up a bit so you can get to at least a gathering or two.
It should be noted that there will be A SPECIAL GIFT for all of you who can make it - but please RSVP so Mary and I can make enough for everybody.

November 1st would be best for me, as I work on the night of the 26th.

I also work on the 26th, but I'm not sure if I work the 1st yet.
So If I don't work, the 1st would be the best for me also.

On Friday, October 26, I'm working 9:30am-5:00pm and then 7:00pm to 12:00am, but I'm going to see what I can do about next Thursday. I'm also free all day Sunday, October 28, if that's good for anybody.

Oh No! I missed the kick off didn't I. I only signed up on the 1st so I'm a little late getting into the game. I'll be keeping an eye out for any other events going on in SJ!

No fear. SJ tends to do a couple of get-togethers during the month so we can all hang out and discuss how our wordcounts suck. *chuckles* Hopefully you'll be able to join us for the next one.

Bah, you can't complain, either. I can complain, since I've been out of town and away from my keyboard all weekend. Now I'm going back to Fredericton for the day... but maybe I'll write more in the car this time? And/or get home at a decent hour to write tonight?

I don't see you having a low wordcount right now. :p
Of course, I haven't worked on mine for a few days, because of work. Once I hit another day off, though, I expect it to jump up a little again. Maybe I'll hit 20k by this Saturday.

Oh, come on Keltie, you have LOADS of time left! It's extremely doable.

I'm sure you'll do fine. Just remember, quality is way less important than quantity. Have your characters spend a page or two talking about the weather, never be afraid to use filler, and just bang it all out until your fingers are sore!
Er, you may want to skip that last step. :p
Seriously, though, you've got the whole rest of the month left, and every year I see people who were way behind at the beginning make huge surges at the end and come out winners. No reason it can't happen to you too. :D
