Hey everyone!

Getting pretty excited about this years NaNo, even though November crept up on me this year, and I don't have anything figured out yet.

I've recently moved to Mt. Clemens, which is a really up and coming place! It used to be a bit of a hole, but they began a renaissance of sorts about 10 years ago, and it's becoming very, very cool...sort of like Royal Oak was before it became so congested that a person can't round a corner without banging into another high rise under construction! (Royal Oak's my hometown, and I love it dearly. It's just a little freaky watching its transformation.)

Sorry, I digressed...

I return now to my initial query: Is anyone near Mt. Clemens? If so, I'd love to hear from you and possibly schedule some local write-ins in this area. It's always good to have easily accessible support and encouragement, so let me know if anyone's interested!

Namaste,
Carole

I'm about half an hour away from Mt. Clemens. I'm actually in Detroit, but it's not that far. Mt. Clemens is lots of fun though. Though, I can't ever find a place to park down there! LOL.

Meet-ups would be fun.

I live in Harrison Township, so I'm really near you. :) I've wanted to do a NaNo for a few years now, this year felt good to me, so here I am. I would definitely be interested in a get together.

Hi. I'm in Clinton Township. I love Mt. Clemens. In fact, I usually refer to it as Bath City. I always thought that there might be a good story right here in "Bath City," with all the Bath Houses, etc.

I am so happy to hear that you feel good about the Mt. Clemen's 'Renaissance.'
This will be my first time doing NaNo. I'm happy that you sound like you've got some NaNo experience. I think that there are some really cute, little places in Mt. Clemens, that we could go to for (what did you call it?) .........local write-ins.

Hope to her from you,
Dorothy

Great! I'm adding you all to my buddies, and really looking forward to hooking up with you all! I have a weekend intensive to attend starting tonight, and perhaps we can set something up next week or so? Let me know what you think!

Namaste,

Next week would be perfect for me. Sundays are the best day, followed by Saturdays and Wednesdays. But, if we plan evening times, any day during the week would work out.

Any places in mind? Wifi would be wonderful. I know Conga Coffee has it, but they have limited hours.

Hey all! I'm back from my weekend intensive, ready to roll up my sleeves, and start pounding out those words!

Saturday afternoon would likely work for me, or Thursday evening. How about everyone else?

I'm new to the area, where's Conga Coffee? Is that the coffeehouse across from the county buildings? Anyone know of anywhere else close by with WiFi?

Thanks,
Carole

Hi. Thursday night would be good for me too.
I don't have a lap top. I've been writing though. I feel good about being up to my 5 day word quota.
This is my first year doing this. I
Is the idea to get together and write? I could write long hand.

I hope that you're all doing well.

Take care, Dorothy

Hi Dorothy,

Yes, we'll get together and write, encourage each other, etc. Sometimes it helps to have some company when we're working so hard.

Okay, so we have one vote for Thursday evening, anyone else have a preference? Also, any ideas on location?

Carole

How about the Panera Bread on Gratiot (Gratiot and Masonic - kitty corner from Macomb Mall)?

they do have wi-fi, but if someone wants/finds a place without it that is better that's fine with me :)

Panera sounds good. Anyone else want to weigh in?

We're looking at Thursday evening, maybe 7:30-ish? At Panera bread or another coffee shop nearby that has WiFi.

Any other suggestions/comments?

Okay, maybe we should try for next week. Is anyone up for that?
