Wait, there's someone else in Orono? Who else is in Orono? Whoever you are, are you on campus? It would be completely awesome if you were!

The list of who's where has just been updated. If you're looking for Wrimos in your area, here are some tips on finding them:

* Look through the Sound-Off thread (top of the forum) under peoples' location
* If you haven't yet done it, state where you live
* If someone else is looking for a Wrimo in their area and you live there--make yourself known. Respond to peoples' queries of "Who else lives in...?"

Also, once you connect with people, consider meeting for a write-in or just for November support.

We should have quite a few in Windham. I can't give you an exact number, I'm afraid, but as my group is in Windham High School, I know that at least ONE of them is from the town. XD

But I know you can up the number for Raymond to 3, at any rate!

Aw, c'mon. There's GOT to be more writers in Maine! Maine has a long standing tradition of some of the best writers in the world. Even those that are from away have created they're best work when in Maine. And this coming from a guy living in Concord, MA (ok, I'm a Mainer living in exile).

I'll bet people just don't know about it.

I'm adding the Windham, Raymond and Saco people. I'll put in Bethel as honorary, since you're not likely to be able to meet up easily with others from that area.

I'm going to put out a mass mailing, to see if I can draw any others out of the woodwork to declare their existence. My objective is to let people know of other writers in their area. I just think some people simply don't care.

In order to tell you all the Belfast people, I'd have to search through all the posts in the first 5-8 threads in this forum. I'm only recording numbers, not names (though I am taking carel not to do repeats). You can do the same if you want names. I've also created a thread specifically for people in Belfast to respond to. It's really up to Belfastians if they want to be found.

I'm in Kennebunk; deciding to do NaNoWriMo has been something of a spur of the moment thing, but I'd definitely be up to going to some kind of write-in if my work schedule cooperates.

I've made several updates over the past 2 days. I don't see a lot of connections being made or write-ins being set up by people in their respective areas, but I would hope that it's going on.

How is this done? Look and see how many people might be within driving distance of you. Even if there aren't any, pick an appropriate place to have a write-in, plan to be there on a certain day and time--and then announce it on the Maine forum and/or the Nano Maine Yahoo list. It's as simple as that. All it takes to start one is a single person making the first move and letting others know about it.

I've got to tell you--there's nothing like writing in the presence of other writers!

I did the roll call last night, but not sure if I need to say anything over here too. Just in case, my dd and I are in Belfast and are both doing Nano. She's in the young writers group.

Hey Rynn Im in Gardiner too and I just found out about this nanowrimo thing and I had to sign up. It's good to know Im not the only one typing away in the suburbs of Augusta. Maybe we could get together sometime before the end of the month, meet at the pool hall or the bagel shop or something? Let me know if you're interested.

There's actually only about 5 or so that live in Windham. We all just go to Windham High.

Edit: I lied, 6, I think.
