How much preplanning and outlining are you "Oldtimers" doing? How much is ok?

Does anyone have a favourite way to organize their work? (ie. Snowflake, index cards etc.?)

I am curious how many are planners and how many are seat-of-your-pants writers?

I'm a skeleton planner. I used Tree Pad (http://www.treepad.com/) to put the basic bones of my story together. I like that because if I get stuck, I can move to a different section of the story.

this week I plan on posting some writing exercises to get people started to think about their story. I like having a couple of character sketches, and background points ready to inspire me during writers block.
