*puts up hand*

I'm a 14 year old student from Wagga. It's my first REAL NaNo this year. :) (I signed up last year but never even started writing)

Hi all!

Hey salzke! I'm in Wagga too. How'd you find the first day?

Glad to hear I'm not the only one from Wagga. :)

The first day went okay, met the 1667 words. My plan of attack is to just write at least that much each day. I have all my end of year assessments coming up, so I really don't want to be suffering from sleep deprivation. XD Weekends would appear to be a good time to get ahead on the word count.

I do seem to be writing rather slowly, though, at about 680w/hr. Which is odd. But I'll get there. It's probably just a psychological "Oh my god I have to write 50000 words!" thing, I'm guessing. :)

How'd it go for you?

Not too bad. I think we're in kinda the same boat. I started out reasonably strong but the last 500 words were a real slog and I'm averaging about the same wph as you... but the process is already fun and a little weird - some stuff came from absolutely nowhere yesterday that actually made me laugh out loud.

I know what you mean about working and sleep deprivation. I work weekends so those'll be my danger periods for falling behind.

Anyway, good luck!

Haha, I keep procrastinating on any writing this afternoon. I think having told a bunch of people what I'm up to is really going to help - I don't like admitting I can't do things. XD I keep getting IMs from people - "Write faster! Go! You can do it!"

It's somewhere between psychotic fun and terribly daunting. :P I think these first few days are going to be tricky; I really don't have my plot specifically planned out past the first few chapters. XD I do have a general jist of where I'm going with it, though, so that should help.

There's no way I'm going to stop myself editing as I go, though. Good thing for me this isn't a serious story!

Good luck to you too! :)
