Hokay. So here's the earth.
And that little speck is Pullman. Where we're going to have a super-awesome kick off party.
What I would like from all of YOU (yes, you. I really do mean it.) is the times that absolutely won't work for you.
Potential kick-off party times:
A. Friday evening.
B. Saturday afternoon.
C. Saturday evening.
D. Sunday afternoon.
E. Sunday evening.
Please let us know what times you can't make it. (And yes, I know we've gotten a little bit of feedback about that, but pleeease post it here again to make it easier on us. *bats Bambi eyes*) Using our awesome powers of deductive reasoning, we shall pick a time that works for the most people.
In case anyone is confused, here are a few sample replies to this post:
"All these times work for me! Pick any of them!"
"None of those times work for me. I hate you right now. In fact, I'm going to name a character in my novel Jenny and I'm going to murder her in a very horrible way in November."
"Time B does not work for me. Please do not schedule the Kick Off Party on Saturday afternoon. If you don't, I'll bring you cookies."
etc.
Happy Writing,
~Jenny

Time E does not work for me.
I would HIGHLY recommend TIME C or A. I'll bring cookies if those are the times...

time A, C, and E would be best. Of course, it depends on the definition of 'afternoon'. The earliest I could show up is 5:30.
It also begs the question of 'where'. And if I can attend, I can give rides.

YAY! All of those times work for me!
...Of course, it does kind of "help" that I don't have a job and am not in school. *Ahem*

Ooo correction! I just realised that times A & E don't work for me. So for me it's B, C, or D too.
So far I'm seeing a lot of hope for C, but when we don't have all of the votes tallied yet. ;-)
We ought to start thinking of location, too. I beleieve we have two who are willing to give rides, and if you're a WSU student or staff the bus is free. If you're a woman, there's also Women's Transit.
I didn't realise the group was going to be so big this year, so for now I want to suggest Denny's, because they have a big glassed-off area where we can shut the doors and be our crazy selves, which they call the Dome, and which I can reserve in advance.

Denny's sounds lovely. =)
And yes, I can give rides to those who are in need of them! If you'd like me to pick you up, you can drop me a line at lady_jennya at wavecable dot com.

oh yeah, my email is cerrita@hotmail.com, if anyone needs rides. Based on previous years, I'll probably be one of the last leave the write-in's, and I don't mind stopping my writing to give people to and from rides as needed.
When we say 'Saturday Evening', what time would it start?

Dinner time-ish is what I meant in my original post when I said evening... probably about 6:00 or 7:00, depending on when we can get the room reserved. =)

Oookay, so we already seem to have a majority opinion, so I'm just going to go ahead and reserve the Dome tonight... and if I have any problems doing that I'll let you know in the morning. If no one objects, I'll reserve it for 6 p.m. on Saturday. IF for any reason you NEEEEED the party to start at 5, please let us know or forever hold your pieces!
Most important: *Takes deep breath* IS THERE ANYONE WHO NEEDS A RIDE!? PLEASE, please don't be left out: let us know here and now so we can help get you there!!
Okay, second: YOUR FRIENDS ARE WELCOME!!! It does *help* if they are already writers, but if you have friends who are interested or curious about NaNoWriMo but just aren't sure about the whole thing, *please,* invite them along! (Last minute invites are great, but it would help me if I had a ball park figure to tell Denny's management how many are coming.) Really, seriously! The more the merrier!
Ahhhhh, yes, the card game. The card game in question is called 1,000 Blank White Cards, and if you've never played before, here's a web site which will explain everything... or just get you more confused.
http://www.geocities.com/nconner23/bwcards.html
If anyone or everyone could please read the above, and then bring five or six *white, unlined* cards on which you've already drawn, that would help us speed up game play a bit. Hey Cerrita, how many hours did we spend on this game last year??
I look forward to meeting everyone!

Um, I'm going home for the weekend... but 1000 BWC sounds like fun, I'd like to do that sometime.

Too many? At least two, maybe three, because we have a ton of cards to start with. When I got everything printed onto the tagboard, it was a solid inch thick. That's eight cards per page. Oh, and those of you who played last year, or anyone feeling nostalgic, I still have the originals taped to printer paper. I'll also bring a bunch of blank cards, hopefully enough to last us a while.
If we're meeting at six, I'll be in Pullman by 5:30, and I'd be happy to give a ride to anyone that needs it. As I said before, I'll probably be the last to go home, and I don't mind taking a break from the festivities to provide rides to or from Denny's. Let me know, and I'd be happy to accomodate. Just send me an email.

Which reminds me, one is doing a questionnaire about entertaining electronics. Would people mind answering a few quick questions about that?

Hi guys!
So it took us a while to get around to coordinating uploading the photos from the kick off party, and we also kinda forgot to take some photos from while the bulk of our members were there, but I thought that you'd like to see what we captured!
