I'm trying to pick a title for my story. Here are some ideas I've had...which one (if any) catches your attention and makes you want to know more about the story?

Tall Heels
Learning to Walk
The Fall into Autumn
Red Lips, Red Leaves (from a song by Bif Naked)
Naked Survival

Other suggestions are also welcome! It's about a girl living on the street, who becomes a stripper so that she will have the money to live inside come winter. There's a lot more to it than that, of course. If you're really curious: www.twitcherfly.blogspot.com

Tall Heels: Makes me think about a woman who maybe starts a new job and is used to wearing sneakers and now has to dress more to her professionalism

Learning to Walk: I automatically received an image of a baby learning to walk or someone who's been injured and needs to learn how to walk again. But that's just me.

The Fall into Autumn & Red Lips Red Leaves: Hmm.. Not sure if I like these much for the story you're going for. Titles with seasons in them don't really grab me unless I'm in that particular season or wishing for it.

Naked Survival: Hmm baby image again.

IMHO, I'd go for Tall Heels. I hope all that helped you.

I like "Naked Survival." Sounds interesting. I mean, survival is one of those things we all want and naked is provocative. If you say "naked" after reading a fortune cookie to make it funny, there's something to that : )

Before I read you explaination, I thought Red Lips, Red Leaves was the most catching, but after reading your blurb I changed my mind to Tall Heels. However, I'm not sure any of them are perfect. I came up with my title using the random title generator (http://wordsmiths.net/Maygra/RTG.htm). Maybe that could help you, too.

I thought about just seeing these titles on the library shelf - looking at just the spines, you know? - and Tall Heels would make me pick it up to see what it was about!

After reading you plot notes on your blog I thing "The Fall into Autumn" fits the best.

If you want to make your book all about the stripping use any of the others except maybe "Learning to Walk" I don't think that one goes with your book from any angle.

Learning to Walk would be my pick. It sounds like your character will go through some basic life lessons in your novel. Just my thoughts based on your post.

I like the mental picture of "Red Lips, Red Leaves". But then, red is my color... lol.

Tall Heels ---- nah. XD Nothing personal, it just doesn't grab my attention all that much.
Learning to Walk --- also a no. Like,if I were browsing through a library and this title came up, I'd probably walk on past.
The Fall into Autumn --- Now that's cool! It definitely makes me want to open it up and see what it's about.
Red Lips, Red Leaves (from a song by Bif Naked) --- Also a good one. It's vague so it makes me interested. Not sure if I like this one or "The fall into autumn" better. xD
Naked Survival -- eh. It's alright, but the previous two are the best.

But go ahead and choose which one you like best. That was just my opinion. :]

Naked Survival is the best if you ask me. After that I like Tall Hells.

Learning to walk seems like a self help book for toddlers.
The Fall into Autumn seems to hint at romance, lushness.
Red Lips, Red Leaves leaves me just confused.

I personally like either Naked Survival or Tall Heels. Both sound kinda provacative to me and very intriguing.

I like "Red Lips, Red Leaves" - I can't give you a real reason, but its a title that would get my attention if I were in a book shop.

The Fall into Autumn was the first one that grabbed me, but the Fall / Autumn pun is a bit cheesy on second glance.
Red Lips, Red Leaves is a bit too heavy-handed I think. Maybe if you wrangled the analogy a bit it might work better. "Lips Like Autumn Leaves?"
Tall Heels is decent. Learning to Walk I think can work as well, it hints at a link between the girl learning to walk in stilettos and her own metaphorical journey, although it does also carry overtones of the inspirational, which you may / may not want. By contrast Naked Survival suggests the story will be raw, animalistic and maybe a bit trashy. It depends on the tone you're aiming for.

I would immediately pick The Fall into Autumn. It's hip, poetic, and just plain interesting.

The Fall into Autumn caught my attention straight off. I like it. It would make me pick the book up off the shelf and read the back for the story description.

I like 'Naked Survival' and 'Tall Heels'. Concise titles strike me.

But I do like the idea of incorporating autumn into the title - the ones you have would leave me confused/disinterested so I didn't pick them, but play with it!

Red Lips Red Leaves was the only one that really grabbed at me, especially after you gave the description. I think it fits perfectly with the plot

'Red Lips, Red Leaves' is the title I prefer. I think it would attract my attention, and also I think the title works to many levels. 'Red Lips' gives in a slightly 'chick flick' quality but also adds a dramatic feel like you get in historial romance novels, and even gives a trashy edge (as in trashy character rather than trashy book), depending to the way you read it. Equally, I think that 'red leaves' gives a poetic, slightly dramatic, stlyised and literary feel.

I hope that helped!

I like 'Red Lips, Red Leaves'. If I saw that on a shelf I'd be curious and it sounds like it would fit the book well.

Having just finished reading "Red Seas Under Red Skies", which I thought was a fantastically evocative title for a novel mostly about Pirates, I'm drawn to Red Lips, Red Leaves.

Tall Heels - reminds me of a lady in high heels.

Learning to Walk - this also reminds me of a lady in high heels, who's not used to them.

The Fall into Autumn - Um... no.

Red Lips, Red Leaves (from a song by Bif Naked) - Is it a romance set in autumn?

Naked Survival - Not a fan.

I like "Tall Heels."

Naked Survival I like, but it gives me second thoughts about the content of the book. Tall Heels...not crazy about it.
The Fall Into Autumn is great, I like it a lot. Fall is my favourite season anyway. It's [the excerpt] set in September, so makes sense...apparently everyone likes Tall Heels. Good for you! Keep writing!

How about combining some of the ideas? Like possibly "An Autumn Walk in Stilettos" or "Surviving the Fall".
