I see there's a listing for Sioux City, but no one seems to have posted to it!

I'm actually across the river in South Sioux, but you people are probably the closest NaNo'ers to me!

I just signed up today and found the region- my friend who lives in Inverness Fl told me about this site / project.
I'm looking forward to this as it's my first year.

Hi, I am from Sioux city and this is my 3rd year. I completed the 50K both of the last 2 years. This year I am working on a sequal to a book I just got published. I hope to see you all around.

I'm going to be working on a novel around some of my teenage characters.

I'd like to know if there's going to be any live meetings.... writer's workshops.

I have friends in other areas of the US who've talked about how helpful the workshops have been for them.. but I have not had any luck finding one in the Sioux City area.

Hey, this is my first time doing NaNoWriMo. [And, even though most (alright, all) of the names on my login are male, I am a girl. I just like those characters of mine. So please try to remember to not call me a boy... That sort of bugs me.]

I was wondering if any of you could explain how to put your novel word-count on the site? It's confusing me. I'm sorry if I sound like a n00b or anything, I just want to figure this out.

Did you figure out how to post your word count? You go into edit profile and scroll down. There's a spot for word count. Enter it there and then click the submit button.

Hello Edward.Cujo.Venom! [Well, I'm just going to call you Edward, alright? It's shorter.]
I'm glad there's a listing for Sioux City! Are there going to be write-ins? That sounds like fun. This is my first year doing NaNoWriMo, and I hope to learn a lot. Are you aloud to do Fan Fiction? Because I was going to do a background history sort of thing about Hogwarts...

Its great to see new people this year as well as the returners.

This is a Sioux City regional group. Anyone from Sioux City, South Sioux City, North Sioux City or anywhere else in the 'tristate area' is welcome.

The weekly write-ins are Wednesday nights at Panera Bread in Sioux City, starting at 7:30 pm. Mostly people write, but free wireless access is available (but bring your own computer) for online games and other forms of research.

There will be a ThankGodItsOver party on Friday the 30th but location and start time are TBD. I am hoping to find somewhere that will let us stay until midnight for a proper end.

My apologies for being so late but a dead motherboard and lots of scrambling to use other computers to make up my regular work has pushed NaNoWriMo down on my list. Thanks to everyone who did show for the kick-off party; at least there was enough swag.

If anyone has any questions, comments and or threats of things to do with blue pencils, please email me directly as the NaNo mail is rather...just don't use it until the server kinks get worked out---like next year. My addy is on my profile or its coded below:

Writing is like sex. You're putting all this effort into something beautiful, using every skill and technique you have to work to a perfect climax, but when the technicalities are involved you cringe.
