I am planning to go to Ballston Common Mall each Saturday in November from approx 7:30 AM untill approx 3:00 PM, hopefully in the Food Court if I can find a place to plug a power strip in. If not in the Food Court, then I will probably be in the Panera Bread on the 1st Level, or perhaps the Starbucks across from the Panera Bread. I will have a binder with NaNo flyers on the cover standing up on the table.

Caffeine will be readily available at the Starbucks on the 1st Level. Food is readily available from a multitude of sources. Parking is $1.00 for all day. The Mall is two blocks south on Stuart Street from the Ballston / Marymount Metro Stop.

I will be there to write, but if others of you show up, I will appreciate the company.

That sounds great, I think having a writing group of sorts will provide further motivation. Are you planning on starting this Saturday?

I plan to start this Saturday, 03 November and continue on through Saturday, 24 November. Saturday, 31 November, however, is a little beyond what I have in mind at this point.

Hi there. Not sure if I'm freaking out or not. Stayed up late last night in preparation for the late nights...and got instant 1/2 decaf coffee. And fig newtons. Ready or not. I'm a newbie too, will try to make it to Sat. write-in. Best of luck tomorrow!

The first Saturday Ballston Commons Mall write-in was a roaring success. I got there at about 8:00 AM stayed until about 3:00 PM with a few short breaks and ended up writing a little over 4,500 words. I am now 490 words ahead of the daily average. WooHoo.

I have discovered a great place in the Food Court to write. It is between the escalator coming down from the 1st Level and the Food Court eatery that I believe is called 'Something Good'. It is the one next to the SubWay. There are some plug in places under the back of the escalator. If I bring a Power Strip, that will give us about three to four 4 person tables right next to the escalator where we can write at with no problem.

I had the privilege of meeting EricH and a fellow named Joe who spent some time writing there. It was great. I am really looking forward to next Saturday. Hope to see more of you there. Now that we have a definite space in the Food Court that we know has plenty of power and plenty of seating, we can meet and write with no problem and no doubts that we are the NaNoWriMo's that are into noveling.

I hope to see even more of you next week.

I'll be there Saturday morning around 8:30, just as soon as I can get there after dropping my dogs off at the groomer. I've got a Sony VAIO and a cute pink computer bag. Stop by and say hi if you're going to be there too. I need to leave around 11:30.

Beajay, thanks for getting the Ballston ball rolling.

I joined Beajay on Saturday the 10th. He put up a great visual Nano display and people who didn't know better thought we were VIPs. :) It was wonderful to talk with a fellow struggling writer. I usually write about two hours at a time, but
I managed to hang in there longer on Saturday. Hope to meet other Northern Virginia Nanos next Saturday.

Hi,
My name is Gayle and I may join you on Saturday just for some company and inspiration. Writers always say that writing is such a solitary endeavor. It's nice to make it more group-centric.

The attendence at the 2nd of the Ballston Commons Mall Saturday Write-ins was fantastic. ZenithOvershone showed up bright and early. She left a little earlier than she had planned because her eight hour laptop battery wasn't . . . eight hours that is. Shortly after she left, FeedTheTiger showed up and spent a long time typing away. It was a joy to meet both of them.

On Saturday, 17 November, I plan to be there, yet again. I sit next to the down escalator across from, I think it is, ' Bloom's Grille '. It is the eatery right beside the SubWay. I arrive somewhere in the neighborhood of 8:00 AM and stay until about 3:00 PM. I will even try to remember a Power Strip to aid in the plugging in of the laptops. I had one this past Saturday, and it made things much better.

Hope to meet more of you there.

BeaJay, FeedTheTiger and I had a very productive and enjoyable write-in at the food court in Ballston Common on Nov. 17. Maybe some of the rest of you can join us for the last Saturday on Nov. 24.

To All Y'all,

The last of the Saturday Write-ins at Ballston Commons Mall - Food Court will be on Saturday, 24 November, 2007. I will get there somewhere in the neighborhood of 07:30 AM. I will be next to the Down Escalator straight across from ' Bloom's Grille '. I will have a power strip that allows me and up to five others to plug in. I will stay there until approximately 03:00 PM. Parking costs $1.00 for all day. The Mall is 2 blocks south on Stuart Street from the Ballston - Marymount University Metro Stop. Hope to see all y'all there.

To give you an idea of what a write-in can do, I have been averaging over 4,000 words per write-in. I have met, as well, some tremendous people. Let's see . . . there was EricH, Joe, ZenithOvershone, FeedTheTiger, and Gayle. Hope all y'all can make it back. The company makes it even more tremedous.

BJ
