Hi All,

As someone with a new baby in the house (5 months old) and new job responsibilities, I am not sure that I will be able to make any face-to-face write ins (unless they happen between midnight and 2 am). I finished last year through the motivational support (harassment?) of a few writing buddies (that don't seem to be active this year) that I met at the Willow Grove kick-off event.

Is anyone up for gentle encouragement or prodding via the forums or nanomail?

Forums are dastardly slow, but I'd be happy to send email encouragement, or to sign online as a buddy. =D My AIM is The Dork in Red.

I'm a mom, too! I have 2! I can get out at night sometimes. I'm up for other encouragement via email, but do you want to get together during the day with kids? We can arrange some sort of mommy meet up!

Even though my boys are in school, I'd be interested in a "mommy meet up" during the day. I usually can't make night time events :)

thanks for the quick responses.

In the interests of full disclosure, I am a 42 year old father with a full-time job. Luckily my schedule is flexible enough that on most days I can drop my 5-year old son off at pre-school, work in the office until mid-afternoon, then disappear home to play transformers, shuttle kids to (fill in the blank), make dinner, and help get everyone ready for bed. I then work finish my day working from my home office after everyone else goes to sleep.

Luckily according to Chris Baty's book, being busy is good for writing...

Good luck everyone.

Me? I'm only 26, but because I travel out of town (about 90 minutes to and from work both ways), I don't get a chance to go out to any of these meeting. I'll have to wish you all good luck through the comfort of my computer.

Ready...set...type?

I'd be happy for some virutal write in's or virtual buddies to keep me in check. I have a 14 month old and i also dont have a laptop so it's not so easy for me to get out and write. feel free to add me as a writing buddy.
my aim is callita623, if i can remember to sign on...

Hey gang,

It's my first year NaNoing, but I watched from afar the last two years of grad school, vowing to commit after graduation, and here I am.

I'm not a parent yet, as many on this thread seem to be, but I do have a (Blessedly!) pregnant wife to take care of, and a more than full time job, and a part time counseling job.

So, yeah, write ins are hard for me, too. I'm bantering setting one up Monday night 11/26 at Le Coffee Salon in Hatboro, PA, but as yet, I've made it to no others.

I'd love to have some virtual buddies to crack the whip with. I need it.

Thanks,
K
